"Why are we walking down this way?" Donghyuck whined since his legs were hurting. Him and Mark had been out all day shopping at the mall after the blonde had left Jaemin's house, and he could really use a break. But Mark was persistent on walking him down a dark street so he couldn't do anything but oblige. "I feel like at any moment you're gonna turn around and hold me at gunpoint and threaten me for my Cheetos."

Donghyuck plopped another Cheeto in his mouth after saying that, enjoying the cheesy flavor as Chester Cheetah popped in his mind. Mark only hummed and came to a stand still, causing the other to bump into his back.

"Bro do you mind-?"

"I'm tired of this," Mark interrupted the redhead, turning around and noticing the orange dust all around his lips even in the very dim light.

"What, not knowing if Cheetos are classified as chips or not?" Donghyuck asked and the blonde shook his head no.

"No... I never know what you're thinking even with my ability," Mark said, swallowing his spit since he always lied about that to the younger. Donghyuck felt his eyes widen as an eyebrow raised.

"Wait... really? But from the start you said..."

"I know, but it was a little white lie. For some reason I can never see what you're thinking and it's so frustrating. But also... it makes you kind of special."

Donghyuck felt his cheeks burn a bit as he shook his head, hoping the street light was too far from them for Mark to see his blush. "I don't understand?"

Mark closed his eyes and inhaled deeply, putting both his hands on the other's shoulders as he slammed his eyes open and made frightening eye contact.

"What I mean to say is... I want to know what you're thinking. Especially around me," the blonde said and stared into the other's soul, making Donghyuck shudder a bit.

"Well... you're always super fun to be around and tease and stuff," Donghyuck said and looked to his right to avoid expectant eyes. "And I'm really glad I took a chance on being your friend."

Mark nodded momentarily, then shaking his head no which confused the other. "Alright, but what do you... feel feel. Like do I make you happy and like all that?"

The blonde had no idea where his sudden confidence was coming from, but this question had been nagging at his mind nonstop recently. Knowing how easily things could happen and chances could be missed, he wanted to finally take a step forward and take a risk.

Donghyuck could only stare at him, not exactly knowing what he was getting at. "Yes? I do always feel happy around you... and I suppose I really actually like you but I didn't say that."

Mark laughed slightly at his phrasing, but suddenly he felt the world come at a standstill as he brushed some of Donghyuck's hair from his eyes. "I really like you, too. And there's this one other thing I'm tired of..." the blonde said just above a whisper, catching the other's curiosity.
