Narrator pov

Today was the last day of summer, Ava was pretty bummed about it, she wasn't looking forward to ending summer

It only went by quickly because she spent it healing herself from injuries and heart break

She had recently got her staples out of her head, she was just not ready for any change

She wished it was still summer

She wished she could re-live her summer and make it better, and not find an interest in the boy, miles

She wished she wasn't so attracted to the boy, it just made her have mixed emotions all summer

She knew she had trouble with boys, she hasn't had a stable relationship

And she's only been in 4 which was the bad thing

She wasn't the type to say "I don't believe in love"

Because she knew she did, she knew she still loved miles deep down inside, but she wanted to go on a break, she wanted to not be worried about him all the time

She didn't want to show him her weakness

But she knew she couldn't get over the boy, it was too hard for her

Soon her mom walked inside the room and sat on her bed

"Hey, aves" her mom said and Ava put her phone on her night stand and looked at her mom "hey, roo" she said and her mom laughed "it's funny that you say that...I remember when you always called me mommy roo, you were only 11" her mom said making Ava laugh

"Now you're off to 11th grade" her mom said and she smiled "I'm nervous" Ava said "don't be, it's the same school you've been to for the past 2 years already" her mom said

"But it's different every year, new kids, at least 6 new teachers, new everything-what if Bella isn't there" Ava sighed "it's fine, I'm positive Bella will be there, I talked to Miranda this afternoon" her mom said making her nod

"Ok, well I was just telling you goodnight" her mom said while getting up "goodnight mom" Ava said and her mom smiled and walked out

Ava laid their looking around her room

Looking at how her room changed over the past 2 years

Her breathing started to go rapidly, anxiety was kicking in, she didn't know what to do, she was feeling around for her bottle of water she had

She grabbed it and drunk water while still breathing fast

She closed her eyes and started thinking out good things

She then thought of miles' smile making her calm down

She didn't like how she was trying to get over him but his smile helped her anxiety

It made her mad at herself

But she didn't care

She just wanted to head to bed, so she closed her eyes with her breathing still a little fast

She was mid way calm

She was able to deal with it

Ava was at school; the front office

She didn't like that she was alone, but she had to be alone

Bella wasn't at school yet

She got her schedule and sighed seeing that she had math first period

That was not what she wanted but she had to deal with it, she wasn't the type to charge her periods she just thought it was too much

Ava luckily had first period with Bella so they sat next to each other catching up on everything that happened over the summer before the bell rang

The time went faster than expected and the bell rang instantly making the 2 eyes widened

"Ready to meet our teacher?" Bella asked and Ava shocked her head "not at all, I think my anxiety is kicking in" Ava said and Bella laughed "stop I wouldn't want my best friend you have anxiety attack on the first day of school" Bella said making Ava laugh

A couple seconds later the class quickly filled with students with the teacher coming in right after

The teacher introduced herself and they were all listening and not acting rude or nothing

Once the class was over they all walked out and Ava stopped "I'm going to the bathroom" Ava said to Bella "I'll come, I can't be alone, I don't know these people" Bella joked

As they headed to the bathroom avas eyes landed on someone making her heart stop, she was mad

"Ava" Bella shook her friend as she stood there "earth to Ava" Bella said while snapping into her friends face

"What?" Ava said "what's wrong?" Bella asked "come on, I have to tell you something-a whole lot actually" Ava said while dragging her best friend to the bath room
