28. The Terrible, Awful, No Good, Bad Day

So you know those days where when one bad thing happens, it throws off the rest of the day and puts you in a very bad mood? Yeah, that was this day. I came into work all happy and ready for the day to begin and left moody and thankful that it was over.

It began with a kid wetting the bed. It would have been fine if it was one of my stays, just replace the sheets and blanket and tell them I can put it on when the bed is dry if they want me to, but no, it was a checkout. And the way I found out was by sticking my hand in it because everything was bunched up into a certain area.

This meant that I needed to strip the bed, dry it the best I could, and still wait to put the sheets on and get out of there. On a time limit no less.

Then, I thought that was it, nothing else will happen, it was just a small hiccup to the day and everything else will be fine... Nope.

At lunch, I discovered my food had been eaten AGAIN! Now I was angry, I threw it out, upset because I was really looking forward to that rice bowl, and came in finding the tab busted on it. IT HAD MY NAME ON IT FOR CHRIST'S SAKE!

I enter the laundry room, ranting and pissed off about it (after having been called "Miss Positivity" the day before by my co-workers), and went on to say I was never leaving food in the fridge again. I grabbed the things I needed to restock my cart with and went back upstairs, not taking a lunch break at all.

Despite all this, I was able to stay on top of my rooms and be on time. I was in one room, and I just finished the ice in my bottle and wanted more, so I go to the little area where the ice machine is and step into a large puddle of water. My shoes were made of cloth and my foot was instantly soaked from the splash.

Turns out, the ice machine decided it wanted to break so I had to stop what I was doing, go downstairs and let them know so that it could be fixed. And I continued my day with a wet foot.

You'd think it would be done by now, and nothing else could possibly happen, but again you would be wrong to think that.

The next thing that happened was a room on my board checking out early which added an extra 15 minutes to my day and I really just wanted to leave at this point, luckily the room wasn't dirty, but while I was cleaning that room, a late checkout was added to my board.

4 pm checkout time and it was already cleaned as a stayover as my super had told me... which I did not believe upon looking at the room when I finally got into it and it had trash everywhere and the bathroom needed to be done.

It was my final room and I was so thankful to be done at last, but fate had one more middle finger to give me for that day which was me smashing my elbow off the door frame of the cart room and scraping it when I was putting the cart away.

From there, I practically ran from the hotel to get to the meet-up spot with my ride. I was very thankful that the day did not follow me home and things went up from there.
