Morning came and I was exhausted.
Kairi, Robert and I had gone off into the woods to collect more fire wood.

We walked back to camp where the others were sitting at the pit, cooking breakfast over the flames.

Kairi and I had been laughing our asses off which earned confused stares from Mattia, Ale and Pinto.

Robert gave us a glare to shut up, but we couldn't help smiling.

"Why are you smiling?" Mattia questioned.
"Did something happen?"

"Can't we just be happy?" Kairi asked.

"Robert got stung by a bee" I admitted.
The boys roared in laughter at Robert. Poor kid, he gets a good going over with this lot.

"It's not funny guys, what if I was allergic?" Robert sulked.
"You're not" Mattia stated.

"But if I was"
"Then we'd be burying your body instead of having this conversation" I said.

Alejandro had been acting kind of strange the whole day, said he didn't feel like walking to head cabin so I brought Kairi.

"Can you slow down?" Kairi complained from behind me.
"I'm sorry Kairi but I don't wanna have to walk back in the dark, there might be bears" I excused.

"Bears?" He winced
"Yes bears, so stretch out those peg legs and lets go".

We ended up making it there while it was nice and bright. We should've been able to make it back to camp before sunset too, if Kairi hadn't gotten us lost.

"I'm telling you, there were no train tracks near camp" I said. Kairi wasn't listening.
"Oi, Everest" I said
"I'm pretty sure there were and- hold up...did you just call me Everest?" Kairi tilted his head.

"Yeah well I thought it was a funny contrast" I shrugged.

We were completely lost. By now it was dark, cold and we had no idea where to go.
We'd stopped at some old tracks that I was positive, had never been there before.

"That's it, we're turning around and you're not making any more suggestions" I huffed, walking back in the direction we'd come from

"That's it, we're turning around and you're not making any more suggestions" I huffed, walking back in the direction we'd come from.

"Man I'm starving" He spoke up, after we'd spent another 20 minutes walking.
"Me too, what's your bet that they've either burnt the fish or just haven't cooked anything at a-"
"Shhhh" kairi shushed me.

I gave him the 'who you think you shushin' look but I stopped once I'd seen the fear in his eyes.

He pulled me over to him by my arm, pointing in front of us.
"Fox" he whispered.

I looked to where he pointed.
To a slight distance stood an animal, grooming itself.

My eyes widened so much I must've looked like Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
My breath hitched but I held it.
