The rain was heavier than normal, which was saying something, due to the fact that it rarely rained in East Stoneperth anymore. From out of the darkness hurtled a, relatively well-kept, Ford Focus with the windscreen wipers frantically moving in a back and forth action across the front windscreen trying to clear the line of vision for the driver.

Up ahead a muntjac deer leapt into the road, no doubt under the impression that, on such an awful evening, the roads would be barren of any cars. The eyes of the female, driving the Ford, widened in panic at the sudden obstacle that had appeared directly in front of her. When her impulses eventually kicked in, all she could do was yank the steering wheel to the right and hope for the best as the car spun off of the road, rolled before hitting a tree.
