Chapter 9: After The Wave

Kingdom Of Melromarc

After the end of the first wave the kingdom of Melromarc and the clean up was finished the kingdom was having a celebration for the success during the wave. Everyone who participated in the wave was invited to the castle to celebrate. This includes Motoyasu, Ren and Itsuki. Y/N and Naofumi were invited to the celebration as well for whatever reason. Y/N had a feeling something was going to happen there but he did want to get paid as promised. Even Naofumi went he also wanted his payment as promised.

At the celebration the king personally congratulated the heroes on their success. However he was truly only congratulating Motoyasu, Ren and Itsuki instead of Y/N and Naofumi. Either way they knew that they did a good job and didn't need some scumbag's thanks. Naofumi and Y/N greeted each other and commented on how dumb this celebration was it wasn't like there wasn't going to be another wave.

After that they went there sperate ways and found a place where they could be left alone.

Honestly this party was stupid I just wanted to get paid and leave here already. I decided to scroll through my daggers to see which ones I needed to work on. I was suprised that their stats were very high. I also discovered that I have a luck skill and that it was very high. I decided to learn more about this new skill. Apparently my luck increased my chances of gaining more exp and the items from killing monsters. It's unique perk was that it effected the world around me it increased my chances of encountering rare creatures and my chances of beating stronger opponents.

When I closed my menu I saw the knight captain from earlier who ran away after burning Ryute Village. He was bragging about how he killed a giant monster during the wave. Actually he abandoned Naofumi and after making the problem worse while also being to late to help the other three guys. He was trying to hit on these younger girls trying to sound impressive. I decided to step in and say something "excuse me ladies I hope this fossil isn't bothering you" I said.

"What are you doing?" the captain answered angrily. "Don't mind him ladies he's just the..." the captain tried to say before I interrupted him. "His memory is a little shot what he means to tell you is that he tried to burn down a village and ran away to go and help the sword, bow and staff hero but was too late to do anything so the only thing he killed was time" I said before I left them. I heard the girls splash their drinks on the knight captain then all three of them slapped him one at a time.

I smirked as I walked away slowly sometimes I impress myself. I heard the people talk about how the casualties during the wave were in the one digets. I saw a group of women surrounding Motoyasu they were asking about his love life. They where however interrupted by Myne who seemed very jealous "hoes shouldn't have feelings for the pimp" I thought.

I saw Motoyasu focus on Naofumi and Raphtalia. He started to walk over there I knew why he was going over there. For some reason he had this thing for Raphtalia. I don't know why she showed no interest in him and shows that he's loyal to Naofumi. But Motoyasu doesn't care maybe he's a masochist and likes feeling the pain of rejection. That's when it happened Myne stopped Motoyasu and whispered something in his ear.

It we as when Raphtalia brought over cake and tried to get Naofumi to eat did Motoyasu make a face. Motoyasu then walked over to Naofumi, took his glove and threw it done at Naofumi's feet.

"I know that Raphtalia is a slave, it's morally wrong and I demand that you free Raphtalia if I beat you in a duel" Motoyasu said to Naofumi. Naofumi decided to call Motoyasu out "last time I checked it wasn't any of your concern and only your opinion, also if I'm correct slavery is legal in Melromarc" Naofumi said. That didn't effect Motoyasu's stance "I don't care Naofumi it's legal we're from another world and it's morally wrong especially for a hero" Motoyasu said.
