Karina's POV

I was sitting at the watering hole with Coltan.

"Are you okay?" Coltan asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"Are you sure? You don't look fine."

"I just don't feel very good and I miss the pride lands."

"Don't worry Karina, we'll return to the pride lands eventually, I promise."

I nuzzled Coltan. "Thanks Coltan."

"So where do you want to go?"

"Can we just stay here a little longer. This watering hole reminds me of home."

"Okay."

I sat by the watering hole with Coltan. It was starting to get dark.

"Karina, we should really get back to pride rock."

Karina sighed, "okay." Coltan and I headed back to the cave. When we got back to the cave a laid down on the floor.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine, I'm just tired."

"Okay, then you should get some rest."

"Okay." It wasn't long before I fell asleep.

I opened my eyes. I looked around the cave, it was empty. I walked out of the cave. I found my mom sitting on a rock just outside the cave.
"Hey mom."

"Hey sweetie."

"Where is everyone?"

"The lionesses went with the boys hunting."

"Okay." I sat down next to my mom. "Why didn't you go with them?"

"Coltan asked me if I would stay here and wait for you to wake up so you wouldn't be alone."

"Why did everyone go?"

"I don't know, they just all wanted to go hunting."

"Okay."

"So how are you feeling?"

I sighed, "why does everyone one keep asking me that? I feel fine." My mom got up quickly. "Mom, what's wrong?"

"Karina, stay behind me."

"Mom, what's going on?" I heard laughing, and I saw hyenas walking out of the bushes. I started to growl.

"Karina, go back into the cave."

"What? But mom I want to help."

"No, you're pregnant, there is no way that I'm letting you fight."

"But you can't fight all of them on your own."

"Karina, go in the cave."

"Okay." I turned around and ran into the cave. I could here my mom fighting. A hyena managed to evade my mom and came into the cave. I growled at the Hyena, but it continued to walk closer to me. I walked backwards until I was touching the cave wall. The Hyena pounced, but it was intercepted in mid air. Coltan stood in front of me. The Hyena ran out of the cave.

"Are you okay?" Coltan asked

"Yeah, I'm fine. What about my mom? Is she okay?"

"Yeah, she's fine, your dad is helping her. I don't think it was a good idea for everyone to go hunting."

"I agree." Coltan and I walked out of the cave. Zarina and Koda ran over to us.

"Karina, are you okay?" Zarina asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Where are all the hyenas?"

"Dad chased them off."

I stared out over our new home.

"Karina, what's wrong?" Coltan asked.

"I've been thinking, maybe this isn't a safe place to rase our cubs."

"Karina, it'll be fine. I'll be there to protect you and our cubs."

"Okay."

"It's time to eat," dad said.

We all gathered around the food and started eating. "I'm going to the watering hole," I said finishing my food.

"I'm coming with you," Coltan said.

"Okay." Coltan and I walked to the watering hole. When we got there I took a drink. When I was done drinking something weird happened. My vision started getting blurry. I shook my head.

"Karina, are you okay?"

"Coltan, I don't feel good," I said before passing out.

I heard someone calling my name. I slowly opened my eyes. Coltan was sitting next to me.

Coltan sighed, "good, You're awake."

"What happened?"

"You passed out. Rafiki said that it was probably caused by your pregnancy."

I looked around, I was at the cave. "How long was I out?"

"You slept the day away, it's already starting to get dark."

"What? Really?"

"Yeah. Everyone was so worried about you."

I managed to get to my feet.

"Karina, you shouldn't be walking around, you just barely woke up."

"I'm fine." I walked out of the cave. Everyone surrounded me.

"Karina, are you okay?" Juniper asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine."

"Are you sure?" Xander asked.

"Yes, I'm okay."

Zarina nuzzled me, "I'm so glad you're okay, I was so worried."

"Don't worry, I'm fine now."

"Even though you say you're feeling better maybe it would be best if you got some more rest," Zarina said.

"Okay." I turned around and walked back into the cave and curled up. Despite being asleep for most of the day I was still really tired. I instantly fell asleep.
