chapter 8

Vote, and put a big grin on my face.

Today is the D day,
Daddy is taking me to the park.
I'm so happy.
I woke up early today just because of the outing.
I'm so excited.
Daddy said I'm going ride the roller coaster.
I've seen it on the T.V.
I will ride it too

Running to Daddy and mummy's room, I noticed that Daddy has not woken up.

"Daddy, Daddy. Wake up." I shouted after struggling to get on their bed.
Groaning, my Dad opened his eyes sat up, and carried me on his lap.
"Baby, how are you?" he said while tickling me.
"Daddy the a--musi-nent park." (amusement park.) I reminded him in case he has forgotten.
"I know baby girl, go and have your bath and we will get ready to go." he grumbled.
I think Daddy still wants to sleep.
Mummy has not even woken up.
I jumped down from their high bed and ran straight to my room.
"Be careful." my dad yelled after me.

We are on our way to the park already.
I cant stop jumping on the seat.
"Little girl, stop jumping or you will hurt your head." Dadddy called out to me.
I am not little!!
I am 10 years old.
My teacher said I am ma--tu--re for my age.
"Okay Daddy." I answered him.

Suddenly, a car hit our car.
Everything became blurry.
"Daddy, Daddy, where are you."
Why is my head heavy?
I just feel like closing my eyes.
I'm sleepy.
I felt someone's hand grab me.
"My baby, open your eyes for me."
"Come on."
That is Daddy's voice.
"Daddy, I want to sleep." I told him even if his face was blurry.

Someone came from the drivers seat to carry me. The person pushed me.
No! No! Who's that?
My Daddy.
I stepped on the persons hand holding on to the handle and I think the person fell back into the back seat. I am going to save my Daddy.
I blinked properly to clear my vision and I saw that Daddy was the one I stepped on.
How come?

I can't save Daddy again, the seat is blocking me.
I looked into Daddy's eyes. He's also looking at me.
Daddy is scared.
I can see it.
"Baby girl, I love you. Tell your mother I love her."
"I'm the luckiest man on earth to have both of you."
"No! No!! No!!!."
My Daddy.
"Daddy, No!
Daddy looked at me smiled.
A resigned smile.

Someone dragged me away from the car, but I was still looking at Daddy. We locked eyes and the car caught fire. There was smoke everywhere.
That's when I realised what has happened.
No No No
Daddy can't be dead.
"Daddy! Daddy! No! No! No!
My vision started getting blurry again and I can feel everything getting darker.
I closed my eyes and welcomed the darkness.

The nightmares have started again. I don't know why it's happening again. It's hard enough having to remember it.

Ope woke me up. She said I was screaming from my sleep. I had to convince her it was just a silly dream though, I don't think she really believed. Fact is she dropped the subject and I'm thankful.

It's time for evening prep and we are all to go to the prep hall downstairs.

I'm going to see Timi.

"Temi, let's go. Hostel mistress will soon lock the gate." Ope said hitting me on my behind.
"Okay." I said giving her stink eye for spanking me.
