Naruto's POV
(for a better experience)

   I sat in my room when I received a message, a picture from Sakura.
A necklace with (birthstone) on it.
"Nice going, Sakura." I smiled to myself, leaving my room and welcomed to the delicious smell of home cooking.
"I hope you guys like waffles." You placed plates stacked with waffles on the table.
"Yeah!" Boruto and Himawari said in sync.
Call me crazy, but every time I see you, I couldn't help but think about my wife.
"Are you hungry?" You hauled me out of my thoughts.

"Hehe, yeah." I scratched my head, you must have caught me staring.
I sat across from my kids,
You set down a plate of fresh waffles topped with butter and bathed in maple syrup.
"Checked the calendar lately?" I asked.

"No, I haven't. Is there an important event or something?"
Boruto and I looked at each other wide-eyed,
'She doesn't remember her own birthday?!?!'
"Nah, nothing."

    The afternoon came around, you were washing up some dishes when I saw you.

"(Name), we're out of ramen and eggs. Mind go getting some?" I asked.
"Yes, no problem Mr. Uzumaki."
Now she's back to calling me 'Mr. Uzumaki', did her trust in me fall that much? It hurts.
You left the kitchen, grabbed you coat off the rack, picked up the car keys and headed out the door.
Soon after, Sakura came busting in through the door.
"Got the clothes?"
"Of course!" She said, pulling the clothes out of a bag and running into  your bedroom to put them on the bed.
"Come on kids, who wants to come watch a movie?" Sakura yelled as she left the room.
The kids ran over to her, Sakura showed me a thumb's up before disappearing behind the door.

    You came back with the groceries, you took off your coat and put down the car keys.
"I'm back." You said.
"Oh, that's good cause I got a little worried." I said.
You put the bags up on the counter and started emptying them.
"No, let me." I took the pack of ramen from your hands. My fingers brushed against your knuckles as I did so.
"O- okay." You stuttered, then squinted your eyes with suspicion.
"The place is too quiet. Where are the kids?"
"Yeah, Sakura took them out."
"Alright." She went over to her room.
I quickly packed away whatever remained and rushed to your door.
You passed the bed when you saw something glittering, and you picked it up. "A dress?"
There was a box right next to it and you opened it, "And shoes too?"
I entered your room, you shot your head up.
"What's going on?"
"Happy Birthday, (Name)."
You looked at me with confusion, then ran over to the calendar and checked the date.
"Oh.." You turned back around to face me.
"Those things are really expensive. Take them back." You protested.
"Actually, Sakura bought you those things. I didn't give you my present as yet."
"And what am I going to do with this?"
"I wanna take you out to dinner."
You deeply exhaled, "Mr. Uzumaki I--"
"Please?"
