Chapter 4: Demmy.

Jai's POV:

"I forgive you... I guess," I said awkwardly, stuck in Leon's embrace. I was kind of just standing there uncomfortably, limp. Leon didn't seem to mind, or care. He pulled away, running a hand through his dark hair.

"I was so worried..." he murmured, shaking his head with his hands on his hips.

"He was," Tifa added, nodding. Her silky, brown hair was perfectly straight, as always.

"Sorry," I muttered, rolling my eyes.

"No, I'm s-sorry," Leon breathed, his dark eyes filling with tears. I took a step back, my eyebrows knitting together.

"No waterworks, please. I mean, seriously, dude."

Leon snorted, wiping his eyes with the back of his hand. "N-No one is to know a-about this, o-okay?"

I smirked devilishly, glancing at Tifa whose expression mirrored mine. "LET'S GO!"

"Wait! No, you can't be serious!" Leon shouted, watching as Tifa and I bolted away to tell everyone that Leon had been blubbering like a little girl.

"Payback's a bitch!" I yelled, tossing him a small grin over my shoulder.

Leon groaned, holding his head in his hands, slowly disappearing from sight. When we were sure we could no longer be seen, Tifa came to a halt, turning to face me with a serious look in her brown eyes. It honestly worried me.

"Are you alright?" she asked, narrowing her eyes and placing her hands on my shoulders. I frowned, nodding quickly. "Then why are you crying?"

I froze in shock. I was crying? "Oh, sorry," I mumbled, rubbing my cheeks quickly. Tifa shook her head, giving me a sympathetic smile.

"Don't be sorry," she murmured, wrapping her arms around me comfortingly. "All the memories are coming back, aren't they?"

I blinked rapidly in surprise. How did Tifa know everything? "Yeah, they are. Hey, Tifa, can I ask you something?"

"Shoot," Tifa replied with a slight nod. I took a deep breath, playing with a strand of my mauve hair nervously.

"How come everyone kept Sora from me?" I questioned in a quiet, shy voice. Tifa bit her lip, cracking her knuckles.

"If Sora saw you, and knew who you were, he would try to take you away. You're his sister, Jai... you see how Leon and Cloud act, and you aren't even related to them by blood! All we want to do is to protect you," Tifa explained, her dark hair falling in her face like a curtain. I fidgeted with my leather jacket, avoiding Tifa's deep, brown eyes.

"What if I wanted to go with him?"

"Jai... I guess we'd have to let you go then..." Tifa muttered in shock. I nodded, my eyes darting down to my black, combat boots.

This subject made me uncomfortable, despite that I had brought it up. Thinking of Sora made me think of new worlds - like there was so much more out there that I hadn't ever known or seen. I knew that I wanted to see it, though. I wanted to experience new things. Leon had to let me go one day, and it had to be one day soon.

"Thank you, Tifa."

"I'll leave you alone to contemplate all that then," Tifa chuckled, giving me a quick hug, before turning, and walking away. That left me standing there alone, like I always was. Alone.

Alone. Alone. Alone. The word seemed to echo around in my head. Had I always felt so alone? No... I'd always thought my life was pretty fantastic until I met Roxas and Axel. They seemed to open new doors, and I wasn't yet sure if I liked that or not. Maybe things would've been better if I was oblivious. Maybe things would've been better if I'd never met those two guys in the weird, dark cloaks.
