Episode 9 -
"Dereliction"

EXT. STADIUM-DAY
An overview of the front end of the stadium is the first view; birds chirping, bright, glamorous sunny day with crystal clear blue sky. And the best thing, no walkers in sight.

INT. NICK'S ROOM
NICK opens his eyes and looks around the room before yawning, clearly having a good night sleep. He sits up and looks out the window into the clear day sky. A small smile spreads gently across his face.

INT. STADIUM CAFETERIA
NICK walks inside to see CHARLIE eating an omelette at the table and smiles at her before looking at June, who is cooking breakfast making more omelettes.

NICK
(groans)
Morning.

NICK'S voice sounds as groggily as an old man with a soar throat.

JUNE
(smiles)
Morning, Nick.

CHARLIE
(mouthful)
Sleep well?

NICK
(Witty)
About as good as I can
understand you right now.

CHARLIE giggles giddishly and covers her mouth before swallowing her food.

CHARLIE
I said, sleep well?

NICK playfully rolls eyes and nudges CHARLIE.

NICK
(jokingly)
Shut up.

CHARLIE giggles more.

JUNE
Want anything, Nick?

NICK
Boiled eggs please.

JUNE nods and starts making some boiled eggs for NICK.

NICK
You wanna go on a run with me?

CHARLIE
(confused)
We don't need to. I'm pretty
sure we're well stocked.

NICK
(smirks)
Why not? Just a bit of fun.

CHARLIE raises a brow for a moment but smiles at NICK'S smile.

JUNE places the plate of eggs in front of NICK.

NICK
Thanks.

JUNE smiles and nods and starts washing up.

NICK takes a mouthful of his egg.

NICK
(mouthful)
Reckon you can watch the stadium
while we're gone?

JUNE raises a brow.

JUNE
(smirks)
About as much as I can understand
you right now

NICK playful shakes his head and smirks.

EXT. STADIUM GATES

As the sunshine blossoms over the stadium grounds and its surroundings, NICK and CHARLIE enter one of the spare black cars. NICK looks at CHARLIE and they both smile at one another. JUNE opens the gate for them and NICK accelerates out on to the road. CHARLIE lets the window down a tad, allowing the fresh breezy air to flow through.
