A Quick Guide

So this is a guide of how I like to think an omegaverse works. I just wanted to do this before I start writing anything about A/B/O dynamics.

Alrighty, let's start off with secondary genders!

Secondary genders are what a person presents as, the three being Alpha, Beta, or Omega. These all have different traits to them and they each have a social status in society.

Alphas:
Alphas are the most looked up to. They're considered strong, masculine, protective, and dominant. They're more muscular than both of the other genders naturally.
When an alpha presents they get taller (5'9-6'5) and develop stronger, dominant facial features.

Genitalia:
Males grow in size after presenting
Females develop a penis where their clitoris was
Both have knots and can impregnate an omega
Female alphas can get pregnant it's just a very low chance

Betas:
Betas are seen as basic citizens. They're neutral and aren't as easily affected by scents as the other two genders are. Depending on their sex they have more masculine or feminine builds. When they present they start to look more like adults. Males range from 5'6-6'0 in height (usually) Females range from 5'5-5'9 (usually)

Genitalia:
Pretty simple, males have penises and females have vaginas
Male betas can impregnate omegas, female betas, or female alphas just a lower chance (very low for female alphas)
Females can be impregnated by alphas and male betas, very low chance by male omegas

Omegas:
Omegas are seen as caring and sweet (usually they are). They're usually more delicate and have a want to be protected by an alpha/beta. They're more sensitive and timid, but they can stand up for themselves and take care of themselves if needed. They gain more 'cuter' features after presenting. Height wise they usually range from 4'11 to 5'5.

Genitalia:
Male omegas develop a vagina under their penis
Female omegas have a vagina
Both can be impregnated 
Male omegas do have penises although they're a very low chance of them impregnating anyone

Reproduction:
Both female and male alphas can impregnate female betas and both sexes of omegas.
Male betas can impregnate female betas, female alphas (very low chance), and each sexes of omegas (low chance).
Omega males can impregnate female alphas, female betas, and both sexes of omegas (very low chance for all).
Female alphas can be impregnated by both alpha sexes, male betas, male omegas (very low chance for all)
Female betas can be impregnated by both alpha sexes, beta males, and male omegas (lower chance but still possible)
Both omega sexes can be impregnated by both alpha sexes (high chance), male betas (lower but still possible chance), and male omegas (very low chance)
None of the kids will get pregnant- there will be a few smut chapters though (maybe if i can write it-)

Heats, Ruts, and Knots:
Heats are a monthly occurrence for omegas. Omegas develop a need to have sexual intercourse and their body will weaken. They'll let out a scent that will lure in unmated alphas. Weekly heats last 5-7 days. Omegas go into heats whenever they feel arouses, those last 1-3 days.

Ruts are an occurrence in alphas that happen every 3 months. Alphas get very horny and need to release their knot in some way. Alphas become more protective of their friends and mate during ruts. Alphas don't weaken like omegas, they can be in public just are more aggressive so it's not a good idea. Alphas are sexual in ruts for 3-4 days and are on high alert for 2-3 days. Alphas can be triggered into a rut by a heated omegas scent.

Every alpha has a knot. A knot is at the base of an alphas penis, it stays there while alpha is not in a rut, once an alpha ejaculates the knot will swell up. When an alpha ejaculated into an omega it will keep the two bonded from 5 minutes to an hour, they aren't able to be separated from each other until the knot goes down.

Claiming:
Claiming is when an alpha 'claims' an omega. They claim their omega by biting them near the neck. An omega needs to consent to the bite for it to work. Omegas with a mark will let out a scent letting others know they are unavailable. Even if they try and omega can't have sex with another alpha, they get extremely sick and exhausted. Alphas that have a claimed mate will only be affected by their mate's heat.

Suppressants:
Suppressants are illegal, yet very popular, medication that omegas take to 'hide' their heat. They still go in heat but it calms it down and makes it less noticeable to others. They can end up hurting an omega, causing serve pains.

Fated mates:
Fated mates are two people who have been fated since they were born. They can sense it as soon as they are both presented. It's usually considered a folktale but many have said they've met their fated mate. Although nobody needs their fated mate it's more pleasurable to be with your fated mate.

Pups and Presenting:
Pups are considered to be anyone who hasn't presented yet. Most pups present around 15-17. Some can present earlier if they've had traumatic experiences. All pups present by the time they're 18.

It's not always easy to tell when someone is presenting. Sometimes alphas and omegas go in ruts/heats when they present, making it very obvious. Other times they are in incredible pain, it's a sign that their bones are changing and morphing into the desired look like their secondary gender.

Scents:
Pups have no scents, they start to have one as soon as the present. Omegas usually have sweeter scents. Betas have all ranges of scents. Alphas usually have scents that relate to nature in some way. Scents can also give off a distinct smell if someone is feeling a certain way.
