Second Person POV

Arriving at school you had shown Senku your timetable. Comparing yours to his, you realized that you had the same one as him, this made you feel oddly excited. You had only known Senku for roughly 15 minutes but to you, it felt as if you had been his friend from the very beginning.

As soon as you walked into the class you were greeted by the teacher. Shyly smiling at him, he returned one, lightly patting you on the back motioning for you to walk up to the front of the classroom. "Okay, class, today we have a new student, treat her well," he said.

"H-hi, I'm (Y/n) (L/n)," you bowed politely as you heard a few whispers exchange throughout the small classroom.

"(L/n), we have added a new desk next to Yuzuriha so please, take a seat. Yuzuriha, raise your hand."

Looking around the class you see a girl with long brown hair raise her hand. Walking over to the empty desk next to her she greeted you with a simple "hello" before redirecting her attention back to the front of the class.

When lunchtime rolled around, Senku had personally asked you if you wanted to sit with him for lunch.  Not wanting to be rude, you accepted his invitation, just like him, you wanted to know more about the person you had befriended earlier that morning.

Taking your lunch from your bag you quickly pursued after him as he had already left to go into the school's cafeteria.

"Heya, Senku." "Hi, Senku." Both of Senku's friends greeted.

Running up next to him, you were quick to hide behind his back, in fear of showing your face to new people. Even though your actions were quick there was still one person who managed to see you before you made your move.  "Yuzuriha, big oaf, this is (Y/n) (L/n)-"

Senku was about to continue his sentence before being cut off by his brute of a friend.

"(Y/n)?! Is that you?!" he yelled, sending shivers up your spine from the visible pain your ears had felt.

"If it wasn't any more clear than it already was, yes, Taiju, it's me." You smiled up at your taller friend. Engulfing you into a big hug Taiju lifted you off your feet while Yuzuriha and Senku stared at the two of you puzzled.

"T-taiju, I think that's enough," Yuzuriha said with eyes of concern.

As the taller boy set you down, he apologized.

"You really don't have to do that, saying sorry while bowing doesn't change anything, it's alright, Taiju. Now, how about we all sit down and eat our lunch?"

All agreeing, you took a seat next to Senku while Taiju and Yuzuriha sat next to each other on the opposite side of the table. Trying to make conversation to fill the tranquil silence, Yuzuriha opened her mouth to speak.

"So, (Y/n), what's your favourite subject?" she questioned with a cock of the head.

"I favour science because it's fascinating," you said as a proud smile made its way towards your face.

"So you and Senku share similar interests, that's cool, at least one of us will understand what he's saying."

"Oh yeah, I remember when me and (Y/n) were little kids-" Taiju turned his body so now it would seem like the only person he was talking to was Yuzuriha and Yuzuriha did the same. Completely ignoring their surroundings, they engaged in conversation, leaving you and Senku awkwardly sitting there.

"So... Have you ever heard about the book "A Brief History Of Time"?" You questioned awkwardly, not know how to start an ongoing conversation.

"You've read that too? You're the first person I have ever met who actually knows about Stephen Hawking."

"Eeek, so you do know about him! My favourite chapter in the book is chapter two-"

"Space and Time." The two of you answered in unison.

"It's my favourite too, I was always so fascinated with space. That big oaf and I tried to make a space ship, it made its way to space but wasn't able to survive the high density of the air so it didn't really work out though." He rubbed the back of his neck.

As time progressed the two of you talked and talked, just until lunch ended of course. But even so, right after school ended and he was supposed to meet at the science club, the two of you walked together already engaged in conversation. Senku spoke about wanting to make some sort of gasoline with plastic bottle caps. To you, this sounded like an experiment worth trying so you agreed to do it with him.

After about what seemed to be an hour of brainstorming, the two of you decided it would be best to make some sort of gadget to convert the polyethylene into a liquid form before doing anything else. After a bunch of trial and error, it was finally done.

At least the first step, step 2 was going to be converting said liquid into gasoline.

How amusing.
