*Isadora's POV*

I'll admit, I never had my heart set on joining a club or anything in my education, but I realized something that changed my outlook...

"There's a literature club...?" I mumbled, looking at a flyer on the announcement wall.
"Yeah, you didn't know about it," My brother, Duncan, questioned, "I figured you'd be breaking down their door!"

"Oh shush," I demanded, embarrassed. I looked at the flyer again. "There's a meeting today after school..." I noticed. I took out my commonplace notebook and wrote the room number and building down so I wouldn't forget. 'It says "New members welcome"... I might pay them a visit...'

I peeked in the door and only saw a few people. None of them looked very familiar. I timidly walked in and took a seat near the back. I just wanted to see what this was all about. Maybe I'd join if I liked it... As I was surveying the room, I saw a pair of people looking at me. One was a girl- definitely older- maybe a senior. She had tanned skin and raven black hair, and peered at me curiously through black rimmed, triangular glasses. The other was a particularly tall looking boy. He adjusted his glasses and looked at me with similar questioning eyes, but they looked at me softly. He smiled a little and I felt myself blush slightly. He is VERY cute...

The two looked at each other and got up from their respective seats. 'Oh crap they're walking this way!'  I tried to remain calm even though two strangers were approaching me.

"Hi there," the girl said, "I'm Fiona Widdershins; I'm the president of the literature club. This is my vice president and close friend, Klaus Baudelaire."
"A pleasure to make your acquaintance," Klaus said kindly.

I stood up and shook both their hands as I introduced myself. I noticed on Klaus' badge that he was in the year below me.
"Quagmire, you say?" he asked. "I think I'm in one of your brother's classes. I got a few classes bumped up a grade, so I'm in a few junior year classes. His name is Quigley, but I don't really know him that well."
"That's one of them. Quigley and I are triplets, and our other brother is Duncan Quagmire." I explained with a smile.

"That's great," Fiona said, "Klaus, since you seem to have connections, maybe you could fill Isadora in before I officially start the meeting. Klaus nodded and Fiona walked away. Klaus smiled at me a little before he spoke.

"I'm sure you'll like it here- if you decide to stay of course. I don't want to assume you're joining or anything just because you're visiting..." He noticed the pleasantly confused look I had on and cut himself off. "Sorry, I tend to ramble when I feel I said something wrong..."
"You didn't say anything wrong," I told him, "I think I might like it here too. The people seem nice. That's to be expected of readers, of course." I giggled. Klaus nodded in agreement and told me the meeting was about to start. I turned my attention towards President Fiona.

"Hey! Hey! Hey!" She shouted, getting everybody's attention.
"What? What? What?" Everyone shouted back.
"Firstly, I'd like to say that I'm really happy about everyone being at the food bank on Saturday. It means so much that all of us took time out of our busy schedules to volunteer- we even got an extra pair of hands from Klaus' younger sister, Sunny! For anyone new who isn't aware, we do a charity event once a month to help out people who aren't as fortunate. This month, I'm sure you'll all be thrilled to hear we're volunteering at the library to read to some of the younger kids in the community."

I felt my mouth curl into a smile. 'I love little kids!' I thought. 'That's gonna be so much fun!'
"I assume that means you're joining?" Klaus whispered, seeing the grin on my face. I nodded enthusiastically, making him laugh a little. His laugh is so cute...
