"DOROTHEA!"

A yell echoed through the forest as I kept running. Something was chasing me, that's all I knew, I heard branches snap behind me and I knew that it was close and with it my death was even closer.

"Dorothea!"

Another yell filled the forest as I ran into a clearing. It was filled with flowers and if I wasn't running away from death itself, I would've marveled at the place. But I had to run.

"Darlin'?"

This time the voice said it gently, making me stop and wonder why I was running. And so I turned around to see Jasper, he was looking at me with his blood red eyes in confusion. His clothes were white but were painted with blood that covered his face and hands, he looked like a killer. But I seemed to calm down just by looking at him, I walked up to him and took his hand asking.

"What happened?"

Jasper smiled showing his bloody but perfect teeth. He put his blood covered hand on my cheek, saying softly.

"It's alright, Darlin'. I did it for you, now you're safe."

Before I could ask what he meant, I felt the need to turn and when I did, my heart stopped. The clearing was filled with thousands of dead bodies, the wild flowers were now blood red just like the grass. I gasped in terror and turned towards Jasper asking..

"What have you done?"

He smiled at me and leaned down to kiss my forehead, saying.

"No one will hurt you now, you're safe Darlin'."

Jasper hugged me, as I stood there terrified.

"Now, you'll be safe forever."

I woke up, breathing heavily and shaking. I got up from my bed and opened the window in order to get some fresh air inside my room. Looking towards the clock, I noticed that it's 3:14 AM. I let out a shaky sigh and went to sit on the armchair next to the window, thinking about anything other than the nightmare.

Why was I dreaming about something so horrible? It couldn't have been a prediction, because Jasper wasn't... Jasper wouldn't do things like that. Neither would his family... right?

That's when I remembered that my friends won't be at school today, as it was supposed to be sunny today. I still wondered why they wouldn't be at school, since from what Jasper told me they don't burn in the sun, but I didn't mean to pry on that. There's still so much that I didn't know about them.

I sighed to myself and picked up one of my books, from the bookshelf next to me. By the time the sun came up I was halfway through the book, looking at the clock I saw that it was already 5:30 AM.
