Chapter 25 - The Two Emperors Part 1

2 Months after the reclamation of Fortress Schielde.

Distraught at the loss of his fleet and forward army. The Emperor decided to send his Royal Fleet to bombard this "Cardonia".

Words had travelled from continents to continents about the sudden return of a mystical country and it defeated the dreaded Empire of the North, the Empire of Scolus. The astonishing feat had portrayed Cardonia as the land of the Gods. Suffering zero deaths when their army of 1000 faced 40,000 Imperial troops was a favorite topic among merchants and storytellers alike.

These figures were so absurd that many countries in the Central Continent, Collective Countries of the East and the Dominion of the South dismissed as fairytale and mere propaganda.

The Empire has the strenght to at least go up against the mighty countries of the Central. Thus a country to the West defeating them is pure heresy for military officials.

But the stories demeaning the great Empire of Scolus earned the ire of their Great Leader, the Emperor and as such led him to deploy his most prized fleet of iron ships.

Powered by combine magic and machinations, these iron ships were the first batch of new generation of warships the Empire wield. Wooden ship of the line would not stand a chance against these new ships.

One of the designs is basically a 1st rate tall ship but instead of wood, it was made out of pure iron basically it's an ironclad. And a ship design that mirrored the dreadnoughts of the 1900's.

"Those 12 zens (inch) cannons would surely put an entire city to the ground!" happily rejoiced by the Prime Minister Lem Phrang.

"Your Greatness, with these new ships, those iron ships Cardonia possesses would not stand a chance. With puny single cannons found on their ships, they would not stand a chance!" the Admiral of the Grand Fleet then rejoices, assuring their victory.

"Even our new class of wyvern carriers would provide the fleet overwhelming air superiority." exclaimed one of the Vice-Admirals.

"I am feeling happy and generous today. Name our largest ship after me!" declared the Emperor as he marvelled their new fleet. It was a collection many countries have dreamed of. It was pure antagonizing firepower that would shred anything at their path.

Thus the 'Kongou-class' look a like dreadnought was named after the Emperor. Emperor Laude Scolus.

150 km North of the Cardonian City of Anlea.

The spanking brand new ship of the Royal Cardonian Navy, are on a routine patrol. The 'Emperor' was just commissioned a few weeks back. She was the lead ship of three of the new Frigate class based on the F-100 Alvaro De Bazan Frigates of the Spanish Navy.

Equipped with the famous AEGIS combat system. The ship is the primary air defence asset of the Navy. With a 5 inch Mk.45 gun a whopping 48 cells of Mk.41 VLS make this as one hell of an air defense ship. Her design closely resembles that of the Royal Australian Navy Hobart-class destroyer. But with the recent politics and world events. These ships were renamed as Destroyers, their new classification would have the perfect aura to describe them.

"Emperor, King and the Chancellor. I am very happy to see the next generation of our Navy. And it's been 70 years since we have a Destroyer at our fleet." exclaimed Captain Jhaune Vadecly.

He was referring to the last purposely built destroyers of the Kingdom during World War Two. But with the advent of missile technology and political events have led the navy to only possess a number of Frigates.

The Emperor steadily steams at 15 knots in regular patrol patterns.

"Contact! Multiple ships bearing... Uh no.. Right in front of us!"
