After weeks of preparation, a small flotilla of three ships departed the capital city of Cardonia, Esden. The flotilla is tasked to establish formal diplomatic ties to the Central Continent. The Reliance, Retribution and Motivate will sail for almost a month to cross the violent oceans that divides the two continents. The Central Continent is East of them, meanwhile where Cardonia is located is lazily called as the Western Continent and or Western Kingdoms.

The Motivate is the second ship of the Cheer class ocean going replenishment ship. At 190 meters long and a displacement of 33,000 tonnes, it is the second largest ship class Cardonia has in service. Primarily as a fleet oiler, it can also store dry goods and various stores and even some ammunition. It is the perfect ship to accompany the Frigates on these long expeditions as they are primarily designed for this. Armed with a Phalanx CIWS, a pair of 25mm RCWS, Simbad Manpads and along with decoy systems, they are quite capable on the self defense side. The auxillary ship has a hangar for two Seahawk helicopters and will be embarking both on the long voyage.

Aboard the ships would be diplomatic envoys from Cardonia and Archesia. Archesian Navy officials are also on board to provide navigation and will act as a guide for the Cardonian ships. Civilian local navigators are also hired to ensure the success of the month long voyage. A small team of researchers from the Royal Cardonian Research are also aboard, they are tasked to study everything the fleet would encounter on their voyage.

One of the Archesian officer tasked to provide navigation expertise is Captain Lectander Ortanio, the renowned captain of the ill fated ship, the Crelant. He was one of the first chosen as he has prior experience on sailing with the Cardonians. He is aboard the flotilla flagship the Reliance, an R-Class Frigate.

He himself is already accustomed to the Cardonian navy ships but his fellow navy officers are bewildered when they were toured around the ships. The amount of technology present aboard this hunk of steel usurps all technologies their Kingdom has. And the weapon systems installed on the ship, redefines naval combat to the very core. Steel towers that can detect ships and flying objects hundreds of kilometers away, a single cannon with a firing rate of that combines all the cannons present on the largest Archesian ship, 'guided missiles' that can accurately take out a ship in a single shot hundreds of kilometers away. It is really overkill, thus the Archesian officers that previously doubts Cardonian capabilities were left to swallow their pride.

The Archesian diplomatic delegation were also on their edge, when they were toured around the Motivate. The amount of luxury aboard the ship couldn't convince them that they are navy ships. Their prized luxury sailing ships couldn't even come close and their previous thought that Cardonian navy ships are the same on their own, which is dirty and cumbersome for civilians to sail on, were shattered to a thousand pieces.

A grandeur send off ceremony were then attended by the Regent himself, his brother and the Archesian Princess, Jahleel and hundreds of other people. The send off ceremony garnered the attention of every Cardonian citizens, this is their first voyage to this new world and surely when the flotilla is back, new knowledge and information would be available to ease their troubled minds.

The route of the voyage would take them first north, then upon reaching a few hundred kilometers they would turn East and will reach the fortress city of Schielde as a waypoint. They would continue to sail East and towards the waters of the Northern Island, a landmass double that of England. Then they would turn South East towards the Central continent.

This Northen Island is currently under the control of the Empire of Scolus. Vassal Kingdoms of demi-humans litter the cold northern continent, consequently weird enough is that its location match that of England itself. Being an Empirial territory, diplomatic ties would be impossible with the current relations of the two countries. Not only the waters are dangerous around this part thats why there are specified sailing routes, there is also the threat of encountering Empirial ships on patrol.
