Camila

Rogue. That's what I was. Not so long ago, I lived in a pack. But with the circumstances I was put in over there, it definitely wasn't a place that I could entitle home. Home is not where you're from, but where you belong. And based off that remark, it was nowhere near close to being called home. I never belonged there, frankly, I was happy I was rogue, deserted from such vile creatures.

They all wear a mask, a mask to conceal vulgar secrets. To think I once considered them family.

Then again, becoming a rogue had it's downfalls. It was a fight for survival. There was no one to rely on, and if there was, betrayal was imminent. You had to act on impulse, you're only friend was your wolf; it's instincts being the only thing dependable enough to keep you going.

As a rogue, you would be classed as an outcast to werewolf community, looked down on.

Really, my only ticket out of here was my chance of finding my mate. Oh, my mate, how I dreamed he would be charming, elegant and would treat me like a princess. Someone who I would wake up next to, butterfly kisses being placed all over me. I had always thought of my mate even when I was in that hell-hole, and how he would be somewhere out there, having said that, there still was that lingering feeling of doubt, whether or not he would be searching for me. However that would only be a dream, the chances of me discovering my mate were slim, it's not everyday the man of your dream comes waltzing into the woods.

The feeling of uncertainty was always there, yet I couldn't help but wish what of a man he would be. My heart fluttered, I hadn't even known him and I was getting all giddy over him.

Camila, 4 o' clock. There's someone watching us.

Thanks Artemis.

I was snapped out of my daze, and my instincts fully kicked in. Scanning the perimeter, I picked up the scent of another rogue, just as Artemis, my wolf, had mentioned. I got into a defensive stance. Already in my wolf form, my senses were heightened, I must've been fantasising deeply for me not to notice a predator nearby.

The leaves rustled. All of a sudden, I was pounced on. I growled intimidatingly. After struggling for a bit, I flipped me and the rogue over, so I was on top, and pulled out their windpipe. I spat it out, the scarlet-red liquid covering my fur and paws. I learnt to fight more swiftly and effortlessly the more time I had spent as a rogue. I was for sure not going down with a fight; especially when I had a mate out there.

I was now at a lake, one I had always been fond of because of its clear glistening water that reflected nothing but beauty. I trotted slowly into the lake, taking in the warmth that it held. It was as if it was hugging me and I moaned slightly at the mellow liquid. It was disappointing that I had to taint it's mesmerising water with fresh blood. I lay in there for a while, reminiscing such horrid memories of my former pack.

FLASHBACK

I was wiping the counter in the open kitchen that was connected to the living room, in the pack house. The usual were crowded in the large living area. And yes, there was always the stereotypical bitchy squad. They had never failed to make my life more miserable than it already was. You could even called me some underpaid maid, except I didn't even get paid. My courtesy is something to be appreciated, but they won't acknowledge something as precious as me because their eyes are clouded by hatred. I mean, what did I ever do to them? I'm only 19!

Really, I would give anything to escape this dump.

I heard heels clicking on the floorboards and I instantly knew who it was. Harper. I never bothered to learn anyone's surname, it's not like I'm going to use it anyways. I had all sorts of names for that fault of a wolf.

"Oi. Girl." I looked up at her. Her attire was definitely all but humble. May as well be walking around naked if she was willing to wear something so scandalous. "Clean this up." Clean what? I already did everything. And that was the moment when I realised she had purposefully dropped a glass cup and picked up the glass shards to make a small cut on herself. My eyes widened.

"Ah!" she screamed, loud enough for the rest of the pack house to hear. I heard about 6 different footsteps belonging to different people come down from the stairs and the living area. Great.

"What is the meaning of this?!" he scanned the room. It was Alpha Damon. Kill me already, I cried internally.

"She-she cut me!" she pointed at me with her face stained with fake tears. Bitch. "Look! Blood!" she then signalled everyone to look at her palm where the wound was. No shit,  there definitely was blood on your hand because someone decided to cut through it.

"You disgusting worth of a wolf." my Alpha snarled at me with disgust. As did others look at me with distaste.

"I didn't do it! I'm not even close to her!" I pointed out. "She did it herself!" I don't even know why I was trying. It was stupid to even attempt to do so. They wouldn't even ponder over the thought that she did it.

"No! She's lying!" She knew the situation was in her favour because who would side with someone like me.

"Take her down to the chambers." My eyes were as wide as saucers.

"NO! NO! Please, not there!" I pleaded, anything but there. My punishment was inevitable.

I was lying there breathless, bruised, blood oozing out of some of my re-opened wounds and new ones. I was cuffed in silver chains, so if I made the tiniest of movement, my wrists would burn. My eyes would drooping from exhaustion. This was by far the worst beating I had gotten so far. They said it would be beyond painful because I had the audacity to injure a pack member. What a load of nonsense. What was I expecting? I had to escape. Escape when no-one was looking, escape when I was in the right state to. Then they would see, how much I had actually done for them these past 12 years. I had enough, I couldn't bear to deal with this pain much longer. It was tiring.

I did it. I'm out of here. Now for the finishing touch.

"I, Camila Morena, cut all ties with the Redstone Pack."
