I was wearing white on our last day

You said "one more kiss," as I was turning away

"It was over" had never registered in my mind

If only I had heeded all the warning signs

I still relive each day so vividly

Doubled over, midnight, screaming agony

Been waiting on his words since we let go

Three novels filled with what I want him to know

Just to have them scorched right in front of my eyes

Wishing love could be trumped by what is left of our pride
