"It's my birthday Aye!" Sean danced around the living room while I sat on the floor making the last of the treat bags for his party. My momma rented the recreation center uptown for his birthday and invited all of his school friends so while she and my aunt Terri were decorating, I stayed at home to finish all of the minor things along with Tremaine's help

Every since Tremaine and I started dating everything seemed to be working out for me. I've been keeping my distance from Christian by any means and although he obviously didn't like it, I didn't care. Although Tremaine and I weren't hiding our relationship, we weren't just going around telling people. We were pretty much doing our own thing

"This should be enough" I sighed while I tossed the last candy bag on the table "gosh I hate birthday parties"

"And I hate this family" Nevaeh rudely mummered while walking into the kitchen making Tremaine chuckle

"It's y'all brother birthday. Y'all supposed to turn up with him. Ain it Sean"

" TELL EM TREMAINE" Sean agreed.

I glanced at his outfit seeing he wore the Jordan sweatsuit aunt Terri brought him along with the matching shoes. He had a fresh cut and he obviously was feeling himself due to how big he was currently smiling

"Sean go make sure that room is clean and wake Evan up so he can get dressed before momma come back"

He walked out of the living room and I dropped my head on Tremaine's shoulder

"Why you all in yo feelings today?"

"I'm not.. I'm just tired, helping my momma with this party, studying for these exams and plus I'm tryina find scholarships to apply for. It's just so much"

"Chill out.. this party gone be over in a few hours and stop stressin bout scholarships. You still got a whole nother year babygirl"

"Yeah but if I wanna go to college I gotta start looking now, especially with the colleges I'm tryina apply for. See, you got basketball scholarships thrown at you left and right so you pretty much set unlike me"

"But you got this Egypt. Everything ain gone always come when you want it. Just be patient"

I slapped my hands down on my lap

"I guess.. but anyways when does the season start?"

"Next week. You ask me that everyday" he answered with a laugh, shaking his head

"Well I keep forgetting. My bad.."

"You need a blunt?"

"No" I started laughing "you know I don't smoke and you better not be doing it either"

As I stood up off the floor Tremaine just looked off, scratching his head

"I thought you said you stopped"

"I'm trying"

"Obviously you not trying hard enough. What if your coaches drug test y'all one day?"

"Well shit, they ain gone have a team"

I crossed my arms and stared at him so he stood up and grabbed my hands

"Calm down ima be good. Alright?"

I just nodded and looked off from him but he grabbed my face and planted a kiss on my lips which instantly made me smile. Even though we haven't been together that long, he already knew what to do to keep me from being mad at him which I hated and loved at the same time
