"What time is it?" I asked my momma as I checked my phone, seeing that it was 1:16 already

"Girl Christian probably just waking up" Akira told me as my momma stopped sweeping the floor of the kitchen to pick up one of Sean's shoes out the middle of the floor and sighed

"SEAN! IF I TELL YOU ABOUT LEAVING THESE DAMN SHOES IN HERE ONE MORE TIME"

He quickly ran down the hall and into the kitchen allowing him to see the glare she wore on her face. He grabbed the shoe from her and turned around, walking out of the kitchen so she shook her head and went back to sweeping

"I don't know how many times I tell y'all to stop leaving y'all shit all over the damn floor and you still don't listen. Let me have to say it again!"

"I know you happy you'on gotta work on weekends nomore" Akira sparked up a conversation with my momma

"I love it. I slept all morning yesterday and I ain know how to act. Didn't have to worry about going to a shitty late night job that barely paid me minimum wage"

"Speaking of jobs, I need to see if I can get back on mine" I spoke and she looked at me

"You thinkin about going back to work?"

"Yeah. I don't have that much money saved up"

"My question is.. between your senior year, preparing for college and taking care of a baby. You think you got enough time physically and mentally for a job?"

"I mean I did it my junior year while I was pregnant"

She stopped sweeping "like you said. You were pregnant. All you was doing was carrying him and they honestly took everything light on you because you were pregnant"

"So you think I can't handle a job now?"

She leaned the broom against the wall and walked over to the table "I'm just saying you have the help. Use it. I understand you don't wanna depend on people for everything but babygirl. You only JUST turned 17"

I let out a deep sight then jumped up as I heard a knock on the door.

"I hope that's my baby"

I hurried to the door and my smile dropped a little, bit not too much because it was Tremaine

"Well damn. You ain happy to see me?"

I laughed while hugging him tight "yeah. I'm just waiting on Carson"

"Where he at?"

"He stayed the night with Christian"

He looked like he wanted to say something but couldn't because even though he didn't like Christian, that was still Carson's daddy

"And you let him go? I'm surprised"

"Trust me I been up since 8 waiting on him"

"You had stayed the night over here?"

"Yeah. Me and Akira"

"I can't get a kiss?"

I smiled and started kissing him before hugging him again "I swear I missed you while you was gone"

"I can't tell how you acted when I walked in the house"

"Oh my god let it go.." I grabbed his hand while he laughed

"You thought about whatchu wanted to do on our date?"

"You just gone have to surprise me with whatever because I don't know what to do for a date. I've never been on one"
