"How the hell egypt be doin this shit?" I muttered while I tried to change Carson's stank ass diaper while he cried

I honestly thought this shit was gone be easy but this lil nigga was giving me hell. Even though he screamed at the top of his lungs, red in the face while I finished wiping him, I could still hear the door to the house open and close followed by heels clicking on the hardwood floor

"Is that my baby Carson?" My momma's soft voice echoed down the empty hall as I put him on a new diaper, finally getting his ass to chill out some

"You straight now lil nigga?" I asked him while sticking the pacifier in his mouth so he could get quiet and she walked in the room with a smile on her face

"Where's egypt?"

I shrugged "ion know"

When I said that she looked at me surprised "what? She let you keep him?"

"Yeah. I got him for the night. Why you seem so surprised?"

"Because.. I'm proud of you"

She walked over to the bed and picked Carson up "I know she probably missing him right now"

"She is. She won't stop textin me"

"Ahh leave her alone. It's her first night without her baby"

"Okay and it's my baby too" I shrugged while standing up and grabbed the diaper to go throw in the trash and my momma followed behind me with Carson

"Yeah he's your son too but you gotta realize it's not easy for a mother to just detach themselves from their babies even for a night. Especially with him being so young. Yeah you being apart of his life is important but you gotta remember she's with him day and night every day of his life so it's gone be hard for her to just let him go"

"Well she gotta get used to it"

"Yeah but you don't have to be so insensitive about it Christian"

I threw the diaper in the trash and started to turn back around to walk off but she stopped me quick as hell

"How I'm being insensitive?"

"It's not even just this conversation. It's like everytime egypt is brought up you start acting like you gotcha panties in a damn twist. You must be still like her ass"

I shook my head and tried to walk off again but she used her free hand to grab me and pull me back wearing a weird look on her face

"Christian"

"what?"

"WHAT?"

I sighed and looked her in the face "yes ma'am?"

"Like I thought" she boasted "now like I was about to say.. you like egypt?"

"Nah"

"Lie again, cause I can tell by that lil face you made when I said it the first time"

"What face?"

"Boy don't play stupid" she used the same free hand and slapped me upside the head making me laugh "you know you like that girl and you need to admit it. Even if it is too late. That's your problem, you act like you too afraid to express shit but I bet you don't waste no time gettin in between a girls legs. All you know is pillow talk. And I'm pretty sure that's how you ended up just like this" she pointed to Carson

"You really about to do this right now ma?"

"You damn right... cause you got a lot to change and learn Christian. It's more to raising a baby than just changing diapers, feeding them and all the basics. Carson is gonna be watching your every move. How you treat females, what you do, what you say around him. You need a full 180 and this baby is your reality check and you better be thankful for him because honestly I wouldn't have been mad if egypt didn't want you in his life after how you treated her"

"So I was wrong for tellin her I ain wanted him at first? I knew neither of us was ready for a baby" I defended myself and she chuckled

"So you decided to have sex.. UNPROTECTED.. then waited until she pregnant for you to realize you wasn't ready for a baby even though you were fully aware of the consequences beforehand"

I nodded and she squinted her eyes at me

"Keep tryina be sarcastic. Watch I slap yo ass. Better be lucky I'm holding Carson"

"Yeah you better not drop my son"

"Boy bye! I should've dropped yo ass when you was a baby. Maybe it would've knocked some common sense in that ass" she responded while walking past me and I laughed
