"You sure I look okay?" I asked Tremaine as we got out of his car. He grabbed both of our book bags out of the back while I looked at my reflection on his tinted window. After hearing Akira beg repeatedly, I finally gave in and tried a sew in with a little leave out since it was our senior year. As far as clothes I just wore a colorful vertical striped T-shirt, a regular pair of jeans and a pair of forces my aunt Terri got for me.

"You look fine as hell right now. Why?" Tremaine asked as he locked his doors and walked over to me. I grabbed my bookbag from him and saw people looking at me as they walked past

"Everybody lookin at me. I look ugly or some?"

"Egypt" he laughed "first of all you look different without the braids so everybody probably surprised"

I ran my fingers through my mid back reaching body wave extensions and Tremaine grabbed my hand before leading me towards the school. As we walked people spoke to him left and right and after a while I was like damn. He really is cool with everybody and here I am, only friends with the same one person since forever.

"What class you got first?" He asked me as he threw his arm across my shoulder. I reached into the side of my bookbag to grab my schedule and unfolded it

"Uhhh.. Biology. Dr Hughes"

Tremaine stopped walking causing me to do the same as he grabbed his schedule and looked at it before grabbing mine, looking at both carefully

"We got that and our last class together.. world History"

He handed me back my schedule for me to look at it again and I laughed

"at least they did something right"

"Hey Tremaine" some girl smiled as she walked past, thirsting for his ass like I wasn't right here. I just rolled my eyes while Tremaine shook his head

"You better not let that shit get to you"

"I'm not.. I'm just- I don't know. It's complicated"

"Best Friendddd" I could hear Akira's distinct voice yell over everybody else's causing both Tremaine and I to look towards the direction we just walked from. Akira smiled as she walked over to us with two girls behind her. One wore extra long weave with nails so long I don't even know how she functions with them and the other wore her natural hair which was in a curly ponytail at the top of her head

"You look fine as hell egypt" she joked while she flipped my hair and I laughed, catching a glance at the girl with the extra long hair as she stared Tremaine down

"It don't look like it's too much?"

"No! You look good"

"I already told her ass that the whole ride to school. Ion know why she think I'm lying" Tremaine said to Akira as he threw his arm across my shoulders again. I looked at both of the girls again and this time Akira noticed

"Oh! Y'all this is Autumn and India. They just moved out here and they live across the street from me. Autumn and India this is my best friend Egypt and her boyfriend Tremaine"

The Autumn girl just kept looking over at Tremaine and I really wasn't fucking with it

"Y'all got classes together this year?" Tremaine asked Akira, referring you me and her

"Every class but our first class. We already talked about this when we first got out schedules" she boasted

"Well all three of us got world history together"
