"Egypt stop actin like you scared to put his clothes on"

"I don't wanna hurt him" I told my momma while I slowly and carefully stuck his other arm into the onesie and pulled it down. Carson's face bawled up and he let out a cry making me stop

"He alright Egypt. He just fussing. Look" she finished buttoning up his onesie and wrapped him back up in the blanket before putting his pacifier in his mouth and picked him up, getting him back quiet with no problem. I laid back against the hospital bed slowly and sighed

"I don't even know how to take care of him. How I'm gonna do this?"

"Egypt.. you've been a mom not even a full 24 hours yet. This ain something thats you'll easily jump into, especially as a first time parent. It takes time. You'll learn his different cries, the stuff he likes and don't like.. it's all a learning process. Just be patient"

She then looked down at Carson and smiled as he held on tight to her finger

"This boy gone be tall as hell. Look at how long he is with the prettiest eyes"

I rolled my eyes at the fact that she mentioned his eyes because Carson literally has Christian's hazel eyes.

"I can't believe I'm a whole mom now"

"Well you better believe it cause it's real. But don't worry at all, you know you got help whenever you need it"

I reached over to the food tray beside the bed and grabbed the sprite my momma brought me from McDonald's and started drinking from it as the door opened.

"Oh my god where is he?" Mrs Gee beamed as she walked into the room with Tremaine behind her carrying a gift bag and some balloons. He was up here earlier but had to leave to go do conditioning with one of his coaches and said he was gonna come back later on

"Congratulations momma! How you feeling?" Mrs Gee asked me as she kissed my cheek then walked over to where my momma was, admiring Carson

"I'm good. I'm still tired"

"They ended up doing a c-section on her early this morning. I told her she just need to take it slow for the next few days"

"Yeah take as much advantage of the help you o for these next few days. When she's getting released?"

"I don't know. They wanna keep her in here for a few days"

"Is that bad?" I asked, concerned and my momma shook her head while Tremaine sat on the side of my bed

"No. They just making sure you good before you go home. Remember you got cut open egypt"

"When you go back to work?"

"I'm not going back until you get outta here. A job can wait"

"Speaking of, I need to talk to you about a job one of my girlfriends. Her son is a pediatrician with his own practice and he's looking for a receptionist. I told her I might have somebody.."

"Hold on real quick.. Egypt we gone be in the hall real quick. You'll be okay?"

I nodded and momma carefully passed Carson back to me and she and Mrs Gee left out of the room.

"You ready to hold him now? Since you was acting scared earlier when you came" I asked Tremaine with a laugh and he kissed his teeth

"You lucky you in pain cause I would've hit you... lemme see him"

I passed Carson to Tremaine who carefully held him tight to him and it was so cute I couldn't help but laugh

"His ass look like a damn doll"
