The next few minutes were a blur. Elves and wizards everywhere leapt or apparated s away, as the most notorious leader of the Neverseen appeared sitting on the top of one of the chandeliers. He laughed a he lobbed balls of Everblaze at the crowd. He turned, and spotting her, the moon lark, aim a new one at her. Her thoughts raced as she watched it sail towards her. She should do something- but it seemed as if she was frozen in place. But the second it reached her, a voice yelled, "Protego!" And the fire dissipated against a white force field. She turned to see not Rose, but Albus' dad with his wand outstretched, the most curious expression on his face as he met Fintan's cold glare.

"I've faced worse than you," he said quietly. "I think it's best you leave now." Fintan glared. "I guess the fights over for me," he said. "For now." With that, he disappeared. But Sophie didn't see him raise a leaping crystal. Her heart sank. He had apparated. The worlds were colliding- but she didn't know what that could mean. The rules were changing in the game against the Neverseen.

"Are you all right?" She looked up to see Albus' dad looking at her worriedly. "I'm fine, thank you Mr. Potter." "Please, call me Harry," She nodded as Grady came running towards her. There were many hugs and "Are you okay?" and "We were so worried!" She laughed and ensured them she was fine, noticing Harry was still watching from behind them.

"Why did Fintan leave like that?" She asked Harry. "Honestly? I don't know. I think he knows it's best that he lies low for now- I wasn't kidding when I had told him I had faced worse. Voldemort and Avada Kedavra was worse than Fintan and his eternally burning fire." "What's Avada Kedavra?" Rose answered for him. "The killing curse- one of the three unforgivable curses."

Harry sighed. "When I defeated Voldemort I thought the world was ridded of evil. I was wrong. But this time, we'll be ready." At that, Rose headed off to her parents, and Albus and his family apparated  away, with a "See you later!" Alden headed off to check on the remaining guests, and from across the room, Councillor Oralie gave her a worried glance.

When she leapt away home covered in soot, she repeated Harry's words in her head.

We'll be ready.
