Ariana scribbled mindlessly in her notebook as she stared into the distance. This bond thing was really taking a toll on her and her mind was constantly on Camila.

Her eyes shifted in the room and it landed on Hayley who was busy talking to Harry. Hayley laughed at something that Harry said to her and Ariana couldn't help but notice how beautiful her smile was.

Camila and Hayley have always been at each other's throats and she's always been on Camila's side while the girl filled Ariana's heads with words that made Hayley seem like a devil incarnate. They use to be best friends before her and Camila.

She must've been starting a bit too long because Hayley's eyes locked with hers and she quickly averted her eyes, blush tinting her cheeks.

After a few moments Ariana eyes found their way on Hayley again.

"Hi buddy." Lauren grinned from besides her and Ariana got pulled back to reality.

"Uhm hi?" The vampire watched her suspiciously.

"Couldn't help but notice you eyeing my ex girlfriend ." Lauren wiggled her brows and Ariana immediately denied it. "Don't worry, I won't tell Camila if that's what you're wondering."

"Is there something you need Lauren?"

"I think you should totally tap that." Lauren suggested but Ariana wanted to know what was Lauren's angle here. "What's up with you?"

"You're also taking awfully long to finish breaking that bond." Then it finally clicked. Lauren's was just trying to get her out the picture so that her and Camila could be together.

"Yeah well I haven't found the right time."

"Make it the right time." Lauren said and Ariana turned to face her. "Back off okay?"

"Do you wanna know what I recently discovered?" Lauren leaned forward and she whispered into the vampire's ear. "The bond can be broken another way. I'd just have to sink my hand into your chest and rip out that beating organ."

"Are you threatening me?"

Lauren pulled back, giving her an innocent look. "Oh god no I would never. I'm simply telling you that if you can't break the bond, I will."

Ariana shook her head, smiling slightly. "You don't scare me, Alpha." Their faces were inches apart and Lauren smirked at the vampire's words.

The werewolf got up, giving Ariana one last glance.

Lauren sat by the window in the study room, staring up at the stars.

"I'm going to make things right, mom." Lauren said and glanced behind her when she sensed someone watching her. "I know you're there."

"Sorry, I didn't want to disturb you. You looked so peaceful." Camila walked up to her and took a seat besides her. "You've never told me about your family?"

"I'm an only child, my dad is a dead beat and my mom's just dead." Lauren answered with no emotion but Camila knew it affected her.

"Well would you tell me about your mom?" Camila asked Lauren and the werewolf shook her head, not really wanting to talk about her mom.

"Does she look like you?"

"Yeah, I practically got everything from her thank god I don't really look like my father." Lauren chuckled.

"She was the best thing in my life. My mom didn't really earn much but every Wednesday after school she'd pick me up and we'd try every ice cream flavour at the store. Then my mom would demand we try a second round, but we'd choose the same flavour each time. I think the person that worked there, I hated us." Lauren laughed and Camila smiled softly.
