chikasue ikari,

i could feel my messy bed hair as i sat up in my bed, the brown knot laying on my back. i looked sluggishly through the window to see snow falling onto the street, the roads coated with ice.

"... i can't rely on her every second... she's not my babysitter..."

i yawned and stepped out of bed, stretching my arms high into the air.

fuck it.'

knock, knock.

my body was tense with cold and my hands were in the safe warmth of my pockets. my now brushed hair was accompanied by a hat and my freezing toes were encased in large boots.

"answer the door," i shivered, my teeth clattering.

at last, the door opened, revealing a groggy oikawa in his uniform.

"chi-chan?" he looked at my cold figure. "what are you doing here?"

i spoke quickly, averting my gaze. "i just figured that today the ice was especially icy- i mean road. the road is icy and knowing you, you'd probably break your leg slipping on it or something so i decided i'd walk with you because we usually walk home anyway and- oh my god, it's cold." i gave up and clambered through the door, resorting to shaking in his porch instead.

"okay," he laughed. "stay here and i'll go get my bag."

oikawa ran back up the stairs to, what i was assuming, was his room and i took my mind off the cold by scanning his porch.

his coat hanger wasn't particularly busy, just three or four jackets and a similar amount of shoes messily scattered on the ground.

he had several awards on the shelves, volleyball awards, obviously. squinting my eyes, i noted that they dated back to middle school.

he also had some pictures, one of himself and iwaizumi when they were younger, another of an unknown woman, probably his mother, and a family photo that consisted of oikawa, a young boy with a buzzcut and another person who could easily be identified as oikawa's older sibling.

i couldn't help but smile at the fact that, in every picture he was featured in, oikawa held a peace sign to the camera.

as i brought up my shoulders, i felt something brush behind me. i turned to find a calendar that was filled with scribbles.

D E C E M B E R

|  11  | pick up some stuff from iwa's

|  13  | babysit takeru
|  14  | history assignment due...

|  17  | ankle is healed!!!

the calendar was used more so for tiny reminders instead of big events, i even noticed 'lunch with chi-chan?' noted on the 5th, but as i flipped through the previous months, one stood out to me, circled in red.

O C T O B E R

|  25  | PRELIMINARIES!!!

huh?'

"yo! i'm ready!" oikawa called, walking down the stairs and putting his shoes on. "thanks for coming by," he laughed.
