Disorder Explanation Pt. 1

This is just information so I'm just going to publish it

Psychosis

A severe mental disorder in which thoughts and emotion are so impaired that contact is lost with external reality

Symptoms- Hallucinations

Auditory Hallucinations: hearing voices when no one is around

Visual Hallucination: you see people or things that aren't there

Schizoaffective

A combination of schizophrenia and a mood disorder

types of schizoaffective disorder

Bipolar type- episodes of mania and sometimes major depression(what changbin has)

Depressive Type- only major depressive episode

Symptoms

-mania or sudden, out-of-character jumps in energy level or happiness, racing thoughts or risky behavior
-depressive symptoms
-Hallucinations

Bipolar

A serious mental illness characterized by extreme mood swings.

Bipolar 1- includes manic episodes
Bipolar 2- includes hypomanic disorder

Symptoms

The main symptoms to look for in someone you suspect with the disorder are very happy times and low depressive times.

PTSD (Post-traumatic stress disorder)

Diagnosis

The diagnosis of this disorder requires that the person has had a traumatic event in which there was a threat of serious injury or death or that they witnessed such an event happening to another person.

Symptoms(there's a bit)

-recreating themes of event
-nightmare but unable to describe
-intense physical/emotional reaction
-rejection of affection out of fear
-difficulties falling asleep
-irritable/angry than usual
-a hard time paying attention
-startled easily
