Amelia's POV- September 2019
"Hey, Mia"

"Hi, Rosie" I greeted.

She squeezed my shoulder and glanced over my shoulder before stepping into the kitchen.

"Are you grading essays already?"

"Something like that" I answered.

"Didn't the school year start like 2 weeks ago?"

"Yeah, but I got to weed out the ones who aren't fully committed" I responded.

She hummed.

"Makes sense"

I glanced away from the essay I was reading.

"What are you making for dinner?" I asked.

She cooked on Thursdays.

"Collard wraps"

I smiled as I heard both Missy and Jon say,

"Ooooh"

I watched as she placed the rainbow of ingredients on the countertop.

"Is there enough for another person?" I wondered.

She glanced over her shoulder as she washed her hands.

"Of course, I brought enough for lunch as well"

She made her way over to me as she pat her hands dry with a towel.

"Who's coming over?"

Before I could give her a reply, my phone started ringing.

"Is this Gavin guy the person coming over?"

"Yes," I replied earning a squeal from her.

"I need to know if he has any allergies"

I nodded answered the call.

"Hey" I greeted.

Jon snorted from his spot on the couch and groaned a couple of seconds later.

"Be nice"

Glad to know that even while a bit groggy due to the meds he was on, Alex still kept Jon in place.

"Hey, so I should be there in about 30 minutes, my ride is about to get here"

I looked at the clock on the wall.

"By any chance do you have any food allergies?" I questioned.

"Not that I'm aware of"

Okay, good.

"See you in a bit," I said.

"See you then, bye"

"Bye" I responded before ending the call.

Four essays later, the front door opened.

"Look at that, a full house"

"Hey, Leo" we all greeted.

He glanced at the stack of papers as he closed the door behind him and chuckled.

"You're torturing your students with essays... Didn't the school year start like 2 weeks ago?"

Leo kissed my cheek before making his way over to Rosie.

"I'm not torturing them. I just want to know where they stand, and if needed I'll recommend they switch to my honors class" I replied.

"When is the last day for them to drop the class?"

"Next Wednesday" I responded.

"Well then I guess this type of torture is necessary"
