New friend

Jungkook sat anxiously in his seat, jogging his legs waiting for the announcement to leave class to come.

His bunny ears kept twitching to the sound of the clock ticking in the silent room. Everyone was currently working on papers, well everyone expect Jungkook.

He was sitting in the very back tucked in the corner because people complained about not being able to see over his bunny ears.

Sitting in the back never bothered him though because with these ears Jungkook could clearly hear his teacher from down the hall.

Suddenly an ear piercing screech came out over the intercom causing Jungkook to flinch and flatten his ears to his head. After the screech a bored voice began to speak.

"All swimmers report to the activity buses. All swimmers report to the activity buses. Thank you."

With another ear piercing screech the announcement was over but Jungkook was already down the hallway rushing down the stairs.

He basically jumped the steps two at a time. Jungkook was just ready to swim again. It had been a few days since he had last swam which was weird for him because when he was at the adoption center he would swim practically everyday.

Jungkook stepped in the locker room making sure to make his bunny tail disappear in order for his shorts to fit. He was eagerly getting dressed into his tight tight swim shorts and he zipped up the semi tight jacket. Both of them matched of course.

He took off his shoes and stuffed them in his bag before replacing them with slides.

Jungkook was the only one in the locker room. That's what he had planned. He always made sure to be the first one there and the first one out, to avoid problems of course.

He checked one last time in his bag to make sure he had his goggles and cap before rushing over to the mirror.

Jungkook looked to make sure everything was where it was supposed to be before making his bunny ears disappear. They always stuck out like a sore thumb and it was a pain in the ass to deal with screaming on the bus. It was even more annoying that his collar stuck out like crazy.

Jungkook quickly got out when everyone else started to arrive. He made his way to the buses where his coach gave him his seat number.

Jungkook hates seat numbers. One because he had to sit where they told him to. Two because he had to sit with someone else. Three because he had to "bond" with the teammate sitting with him.

It was all just very bothersome but Jungkook had no time to think when one of his teammates flopped himself next to Jungkook.

He was a tall guy, Jungkook knew that he did fairly well when it came to swimming but he wasn't as in love with the sport like some of the others, including Jungkook.

The said teammate looked over to Jungkook and the corners of his mouth dropped slightly for a second before breaking into a big smile.

"Hey, your Jungkook aren't you?"

Jungkook looked out the window not wanting to talk to him. He didn't want to have to deal with what he knew this guy was gonna say.

"Your a hybrid right?"

There it was. That stupid question. Jungkook turned back to him staring daggers into his eyes.

"Yeah and what about it?" Jungkook said with ice laced in his voice.

The guy didn't seem to understand, he raised his eyebrows but kept up his big smile anyway.

"That's pretty cool. My next door neighbor is a hybrid" He pressed a finger to his chin as if he was thinking "I believe he is a dog hybrid. He's a good guy quite funny too."

Jungkooks face dropped in confusion. Did he just call Jungkook cool? Also why is he trying to keep up conversation with Jungkook?

"Uh thanks?" Jungkook said scratching his arm awkwardly.

"Are you excited for the meet today?" The mystery guy said while looking around at all the people entering the bus.

"Yeah, you?" Jungkook asked deciding that conversation wouldn't be the worst right now.

"Oh gosh I'm so excited! I hope to do well. Speaking of well, your a great swimmer! I would argue that your the best on the team honestly. Your like a superhero when you get in the water."

Jungkook blushed slightly at the compliment. "Thanks, I've never heard anyone say anything like that before honestly."

The guy whipped his head towards Jungkooks with wide eyes "What?! There is no way! Your amazing someone should have said it before!"

Jungkook laughed slightly as the bus started up. "Good luck today uh..."

"Yugyeom. The names Yugyeom." He said with a wide smile.

"Ok, good luck today Yugyeom."

"You too Jungkook."

They were loading off the bus. Yugyeom has continued to talk Jungkooks ear off the whole bus ride even up to the point they got off.

The whole team walked towards the pools at the back of the rival school.

There were tons of teams already there and Jungkook could pick out some of the students while the first group of girls got ready to swim.

Jungkook has close to an hour before his group, the final group, had to swim. Normally when swimming you would swim different styles and such but the way Jungkooks school was set up they did it differently.

You would only swim once to make sure everyone got to swim. There were just too many schools and too many people for everyone to swim twice.

Jungkook sat with Yugyeom and the rest of the boys on his team waiting for their turns.

His eyes scanned parents and siblings cheering on people swimming. He looked through everyone in the crowd till he locked eyes on five familiar faces.

Five? But Jungkook had six hyungs. He looked through them Hoseok, Yoongi, Jin, Namjoon, Taehyung...where was Jimin??

Almost on cue Jimin came running up to the others with a huge smile on his face. He said something that Jungkook couldn't make out because his ears were currently not with him.

He then looked around and spoke again. Namjoon suddenly pointed over to where Jungkook was sitting.

Jimin looked over to where Namjoon pointed at Jungkook and smiled as he waved over at Jungkook who was currently watching them.

Jungkook shyly waved back at him. Jungkook suddenly felt a heavy hand on his shoulder.
