I sighed, heavily aware of the implications of this entire situation. I hadn't talked to Jeff in a little over a week. He moved seats in both classes, ignoring me entirely. He sits with Annie in Class 101 now, away from the rest of the Seven. Troy and Abed moved to sit in front of us, Britta now sitting next to me. It was a nice change, but I still missed sitting next to Jeff.
Britta had really helped the night he stormed out. She talked me through the feelings I had and explained that Jeff has a weird friendship with Annie. She agreed that Annie definitely overstepped and explained that I may have been too harsh when talking to Jeff. Either way, I felt a lot better about the situation than I would have if Darla hadn't texted her from my phone.
My friends and I decided to hold a strategy meeting, inviting Britta, Troy, and Abed to join us. From the sound of it, they didn't really want to help Jeff and Annie out with this one. We decided to have it at Clark's house to make up for the room we would need. It was pretty last minute, and I was volunteered to get food, so I stopped by that sushi place Jeff and I went to. I remembered that they had to go orders, so I called one in to save time. It would put me a little out of my way, but it was worth it.
I got to the restaurant and parked, hurrying inside to get my food.
"Hey, I have a pickup for Whitley," I said to the cashier, them nodding and having me pay while they went back and grabbed my food.
I looked around the store while I waited, seeing that it was oddly quiet for a Sunday afternoon. Only about half of the tables were filled, and one of them caught my eye. I had to do a double-take, but I realized it was Jeff and Annie when I actually focused on the table. They were laughing, large smiles spread on their faces. I quickly looked away, making sure they couldn't see me. As long as I could get out as fast as I could, they probably wouldn't see me.
The cashier brought out my food. I smiled and quickly thanked them while I took the two bags the containers were settled in. I tried to walk out as quickly as I could, successfully making it to my car. I put the food in the backseat, sighing in relief as I shut the door.
"Lou!"
I turned to see Jeff running up to my car, Annie following closely behind with a disinterested look on her face.
"What do you want?" I groaned, throwing my head back in frustration.
"I thought maybe you'd wanna talk to Annie," he said, gesturing to her. She put a pouty face on, clearly trying to gain my sympathy.
