"ugh, you really invited him over later?" lucas asked during lunch.

"yeah, it's not a big deal, lucas." mike shrugged.

"how is it not a big deal? we both hate that little fairy." lucas seethed.

"it's not like we're going to be best friends, lucas. jesus christ." mike sighed.

"you're right. you're not going to be best friends, he's going to make you his boyfriend." lucas smirked.

mike bit the inside of his cheek, trying not to laugh.

"lucas, stop." he covered his mouth.

"i'm sorry." lucas giggled.

they both looked at each other, then started laughing.

"ah, lucas, you did it again." mike took a bite of his apple.

will was staring at the two boys from across the cafeteria.

"do you think they're talking about me?" will asked.

"no, i don't—." jane started.

"yeah, probably." max interrupted.

"don't worry, i'm sure it's nothing." dustin assured.

"or they're talking about how they think you're a big asshole." max commented.

"max, stop it!" jane hit her on the arm.

"no! don't touch me!" max shrieked and got up.

she threw her lunch away and left the cafeteria.

"max! wait!" jane called and ran after her.

"well. that was rough." dustin mumbled.

will sighed and put his head down on the table.

"i wonder what happened with max and..." lucas trailed off.

mike looked at lucas.

"and what?" mike asked.

lucas looked at the hallway.

"you forgot her name, didn't you?" mike asked.

"yeah." lucas admitted.

"it's jane." mike replied and ate some salad.

lucas smirked at him.

"what?" mike swallowed.

"you like her, don't you." lucas smirked.

"what? no i don't." mike shook his head.

"if you say so." lucas mumbled.

mike rolled his eyes and the bell rang.

everyone threw their food away, then went to their lockers to get what they needed.

"dude, look, they're over there." lucas muttered.

"who?" mike closed his offer.

"max and jen!" lucas exclaimed.

"it's jane." mike corrected.

"yeah, jane, whatever. she's over there!" lucas pointed.

mike grunted and looked over. they were at will's locker.

lucas grabbed mike's arm and pulled him closer to the girls.

"lucas, why—."

"shhh!" lucas shushed him.

"i don't want to talk to him." max folded her arms.

"come on, max, he's your best friend. you have to talk to him." jane said.

"fine." max grunted.

mike smirked when he saw will walk up to his locker.

"the queer is here." lucas muttered.

"shut up, lucas." mike scowled and walked away from him.

"hey, will." mike waved as he walked by.

"hi." will waved back.

max rolled her eyes, but mike ignored it. he couldn't help but smile after saying hi to will.
