(Doctor's POV)
I walked down the central hall of the Lab while reading my cure papers. I was on my way to the Dorm to rest after a long day's work. I was rather speed walking it, almost running. I didn't need to look where I was going, for I knew my way around Mobile City like the back of my--
SMACK!!!
"OOf!"
"Ow!"
a bunch of papers fell to the floor. Not my parers though. I looked up and realized I had just ran Into one of my Dear Operators. I gasped when I saw who it was:
....Dr. Kal'tsit....
I was having a mini heart attack. She gave me an Irritated look. Being smacked with that clip board of hers was the least o my worries....knowing Kal'tsit, there was a number of things she could do when she's upset towards me or anyone in that matter.
"Watch where you are going!"She snapped.
'I-I uh...Sorry Doctor!... Here...let me...."
"Ah!!" She smacked my hand when I bent down to help her pick up her papers.
"You'll mix them up! Just go." She said.
"But-" I was cut off when she game me a deadly look. I had already ticked her off enough... I decided to hurry on out of there before I get my neck wrung out. I sighed. She really makes my blood pressure rise. I got tired of breathing in my own Carbon Dioxide so I decided to take my mask off.
I finally got to the dorms...in one piece, thankfully. I set my papers down and sighed.
I noticed Closure who was getting a cup of coffee from the Espresso machine.
Skadi was busy Tormenting poor little Magallan on the other side of the room. Grani hurried to her rescue and pulled her away from Skadi.
"What's up Doc? lookin' a little pale there....Did you have another near death expirence with Miss Kal'tsit?" she asked with a smirk. She sat right next to me...close enough that our shoulders touched.
I nodded. "She....is...scary." was all I could describe. I couldn't find the words to describe how scary she can be sometimes. Other times she can be really nice and mildly endearing....but that was a rare occasion. Now when she gets drunk...it's a whole new Kal'tsit. instead of being all staggering and clumsy like any normal person would, Kal'tsit would be sweet and a little childish.
Closure chuckled.
"just don't get on her bad side..." she said.
"Is that even possible?!" I exclaimed.
Closure scratched her chin.
"Well, now that you mention....give her a lil' booze I guess." She said with a devious smirk.
Noir Corne peeked over his newspaper.
"Just don't let her catch ya sayin' that...she'll skin both of you alive."
I got up and walked over to the fridge I opened it up.
"What the--" No Pop?!
"Cardigan drank all the Cola." said Closure.
"Well, at least she didn't drink all the whiskey this time."
I grabbed the entire bottle and cracked it open. I poured myself a glass.
I noticed Texas was sitting at the Bar table next to me, she had black spots under her eyes, and her hands were shaking.
"Hey you okay there, Texas?" I asked. she looked at me.
"C-can I have the day off tomorrow?" she pleaded.
dang. she must have been tired as hell. She worked graveyard shifts. Sometimes she worked over time. I couldn't remember the last time she slept. that and having to put up with Lappland, I'm surprised she still has any sanity left. or maybe she's hanging on by a thread.
"You know, why don't you just take the whole weekend off, get yourself some sleep." I said.
"Th- thank you Doctor." She slowly got up, wiped her eyes and left.
"Poor girl...she deals with alot..." I said.
Closure nodded.
"I think Lappland's weird Obsession with Texas wears her out even more." She said.
"That's nothing Compared to Red." I said.
"Projekt Red?"
"mmm hmm. She and her Obsession with wanting to grab everyone's tails..."
"Oh god.."
"The other Lupos don't seem to like her....Except you, Provence."
Provence was eating Apple Pie with Exusiai at the Dining table.
"Yes...I do. She can be a handful sometimes...But...I feel like she doesn't know how to talk to others...you know....because Kal'tsit kept her in isolation for so long."
"yeaah..." I agreed. Socially awkward definitely described Red. She wasn't much of a talker. if she wanted something, she would take it. If people was in her way, and wouldn't move, she would push them out of her way. She communicates well with me... better than Kal'tsit even.
"Whatcha doin' tomorrow, Doc? gonna pick another battle with The Reunion down in Chernobog?" Asked Closure.
"Screw. That. I don't have the sanity to deal with those hooligans." Speaking of Sanity, I looked down to my little Watch-like Sanity monitor on my wrist. It was flashing Red with 10% on it. Damn. yeah...today was more than stressful.
"Damn....Closure, I'm going to need one of your Sanity potions before I go to bed. Can you mix one up for me?"
"Why Absolutely, Doc! Follow me to my work shop and I'll spin one up in a jiffy....for 100 Orundum."
"What?!" Holy crap, I blew most of my Orundum hiring Operators all afternoon.
"Haha! just kiddin' come with me."
I sighed with relief.
"Man, got me going there for a sec...what am I going to do with you?''
