So, here's a misconception. In the earlier chapters, and I never explained this, when Todoroki went to check up on Midoriya, and the latter had what he called "juice" come from his mouth, it was, indeed, blood. However, the misconception lies in the fact that this wasn't self harm. Midoriya had internal bleeding from Hisashi, and he was puking up blood when Todoroki found him.
