To say that the conversation Kara had to have with Eliza when she and Alex got home was uncomfortable, was an understatement. I mean, no one likes to talk about anything in the realm of sex with their parents, but because of the unusual circumstances, it hit different for Kara.

Eliza on the other hand didn't really seem uncomfortable at all, but as the conversation went on, she became more and more unhappy with the situation. Kara tried to explain things to Eliza in the most scientific way she could think of to connect to the older woman's thought process, but It was hard to do, and Eliza definitely didn't like the idea of sending her adoptive daughter to live at the apartment of a woman she had just met for the next two or three weeks.

The only way that Kara was able to convince Eliza to let her go, was to explain that if Lena's anatomy became that of an omega, and Kara wasn't there, Lena could fall into a depression. So Kara told Eliza about a famous case on Krypton of an abusive alpha named Gan-Lok who abandoned his omega while she was in heat, and the omega felt so empty and alone that she ended up taking her own life. This was a story that was used to educate young Kryptonians in anatomy classes time and time again.

After understanding the risks and the weight of the situation, Eliza finally agreed. Kara promised her that she would check in daily, over the phone or in person, and that she would stay safe and out of trouble. They also made a plan for Kara to bring Lena to Eliza's lab for testing once everything between them was figured out.

That night Kara got almost no sleep. Her rut was hitting her hard, and it wasn't helping that the only thing she could think about was Lena, Lena, Lena. It was only her. Every. Single. Second. It only made her physical symptoms worse. The blonde was practically drowning in rut pheromones, and she kept wishing that Lena was there to soothe her discomfort.

The next morning, the blonde Alien got out of bed at 5:00 am. It was early for her, but she wanted to make sure that she arrived at Lena's penthouse before she woke up just in case Lena needed her. Most of her stuff had already been packed with the help of her mother and sister the night before, so she just showered and dressed, then got the rest of her things together.

It wasn't until she was finally ready to leave that Kara noticed how much better she was feeling, and she was hoping it was because her rut had ended early. She sat with Eliza for a few minutes and talked to her about it, and the older blonde said it would make sense considering that Kara said this was one of the worst ruts she'd been through.

Kara was happy to hear that she might already be done with her rut, even if she was a little skeptical of it, especially since that way she could give her full attention to Lena. It was a little after 6:00 am. when Kara finally left the house, and she could already feel herself getting excited to see the beautiful Luthor again.

Kara was pretty proud of herself that she was able to fly to Lena's penthouse holding all of her stuff, without dropping a single thing along the way. She landed gracefully on the balcony of her soulmate and immediately noticed a bright pink Post-It stuck to the glass sliding door.

Kara,

I figured you'd be flying so I left the door unlocked for you, you can just come inside. My bedroom is up the stairs and at the end of the left hallway, I may still be sleeping but you can drop your stuff in there and go ahead and wake me up. Can't wait to see you.

-LL

Kara's Kryptonian heart warmed when she read the sweet note and saw the perfect handwriting. She finally opened the sliding door, closing and locking it behind her before setting her stuff down to briefly take a look around the penthouse.
