"Yeah, mum...I'll be okay..don't think much about me..bye."
I just got off a call from my mum and told her I was going to spend the night at Alex's, as I didn't want her knowing I was going to a party.

I don't think she would be too happy about it. Alex's parents were out of town for the weekend, so it was only her at home.

She just parked her car in front of an apartment, which I was sure was the party location, as I could see lights blinking from inside and red cups on the porch.

"Let's do this!" Alex whooped in excitement as she led me into the house that was filled with drunk dancing teenagers, some were already even passed out on the floor. Guess we came late.

Almost everyone was holding a red cup, and I thought I recognized some of them from school, but most of them, I didn't know.

I was slightly stiff and very nervous. Alex led me to the kitchen, took out a bottle of alcohol from the fridge, and inspected it.

"Oh, yeah. That's what I'm talking about." She popped the bottle cap open and took a swig from it.

"Don't forget you're the one driving." I reminded her.

"Relax, will you? I'm not drinking much. This is just to help me relax a little, something you should do. Besides, I could always call Jane to come pick us up."
I really wasn't comfortable here. As I said, I hated parties. I wasn't too good at places like this. It made me feel uncomfortable.

"Have some." Alex offered me the bottle, but I shook my head no. I really didn't want to get drunk.

"It'll help loosen you up. Come on." I shook my head again, making her shrug and take another swig from the bottle. "Suit yourself, now let's go have some fun!" She whooped once more.

She dragged me back out with the bottle in one hand, and we were back out where the party is in full swing.

I watched her dance away, swinging her hips to the music, while I stood there fiddling with my fingers. This had been a terrible idea, I shouldn't have come.

I wanted to tell Alex I would call for a cab to pick me up when my eyes caught something, or rather someone upstairs. Ryan.

He was with his buddies on a sofa, and they all were laughing and drinking, while he sat, with a bored expression on his face. He hadn't noticed me, though, and he looked like he didn't want to be there. But he stole the spotlight from anyone else looking as handsome as ever.

Then I saw Jenny walk over to him and sat on his lap before she leaned on him, and all his attention rested on her.
At that moment, I felt a surge of anger rush through me at their intimacy before looking back for Alex, who was still dancing, and I grabbed the beer bottle from her.

"Hey..." she started but stopped, however, when she saw me put the tip in my mouth and drink from it. It burned down my throat, making me clench my eyes shut.
"Nice." I heard Alex cheer. "Now, let's really have some fun."

I smirked and allowed her to drag me to the middle of the dancefloor that was filled with a lot of drunk teens grinding on one another.

I could already feel the alcohol begin to kick in. I guess I was a lightweight. I moved my hips to the beat and swung my head to all directions.

I didn't know if I was dancing right, but I honestly didn't care. A guy approached Alex, and she started grinding on him. I tried to take another swing from the bottle, but it was already empty.

I needed more of this if I wanted to really enjoy myself here and forget all about Ryan.

I went back to the kitchen and looked through the fridge for another beer bottle. I found the same type Alex took, and then popped it open. I drunk from it and maybe drank from another bottle or bottles before deciding to head back to the dance floor.
