Chapter 8

Nick's POV

While I was making dinner I got a text from Shay. I couldn't be more happier! No, it wasn't the best of texts. But I knew she was okay. I dialed her number realizing she had blocked me. At least she's okay. That's all I cared about.

Shay's POV
Sim and I sat in her car for the next hour driving to a small town outside New York. She drove down her long dirt driveway. Away from all the other houses. Perfect place to hide huh?

She helped me with my bags as I walked in. She lives in a very small three bedrooms, two bathrooms house. I walked through the kitchen sliding my hand along her smooth white tiled island. I made my way to the black screen door besides her fridge. When I stepped out a warm breeze whistled past me. I sat down on her wooden chaired swing. My mind played flashbacks of when Nick and I were little. We sat on a swing like this sharing a ice cream cone. Squeezing my eyes shut, I tried to remember the song he used to always sing to me. My mind drew a blank as I loudly sighed. I wish I could go back to that time. It was so peaceful and easy.

Flashback 7 years ago

Everyone got so excited about Nick and his soon to be solo career. We all were hanging in Nick's room. Kevin and Nick both had their guitars. Joe and I watched from the bed as they played.

"You guys should write song together," I said out loud. They looked at me then each other.

"I don't see why not. But you'll have to leave the room," Nick smile at me. My heart melted within my chest. My god, how can this boy be so beautiful? As my heart flipped around, Joe pushed me out of the room. I went downstairs and watched some tv until they called me up. When I walked back they haven't changed a single thing. Nick still smiled as I had left him earlier. I took a seat on his bed and listened.

"This song goes out to a special someone." He winked at me. My nerves kicked in as I was eager to hear the song. Joe started it off nice and sweet.

My smile along with my butterflies grew as Nick began to sing.

I closed my eyes as the part I will soon fall in love with was sung.

"I think you guys would make it great as a band," I said hugging all of them. I hugged Nick last. I knew why he wanted me out of the room. He wrote the song with only me in mind. And I believed every line that was sang.
