The trip to temple was a revelation for Mullai

She saw a completely different side to Kathir

A side she had seen maybe when they were younger..a carefree, happy uninhibited version of him..she had seen glimpses of it of course in the past 9-10 months..but none of it prepared her for what she saw now

The little girl holding her maamaa's hand and walking ahead of her a couple of steps brought a smile to her lips

Kathir turned around to see where she was..

He put out his hand on the other side to indicate she join them too..

Mullai hastened her steps to join them

Mullai had a lot to ask, a lot to say...but she knew now was not the time..this was his time with paappaa..what she wanted to talk about could wait..

Paappaa had started chatting with Kathir again

Mullai suddenly remembered how possessive and irritated she had been only this morning..but now thinking about it she wanted to laugh..she had a sudden urge to scream..and for the first time the intensity of her own feelings hit her hard..

By then they had reached the sannithi...

The poojari was just doing the evening nivethana pooja and a temple staff rang the bell

Paappaa : maamaa maamaa bell naanum adikkanum maamaa

Kathir : seri vaa

He lifted her and she had a merry time ringing the bell

Kathir : pothum pooja panni mudichappuram bell adikka koodathu..vaa

Paappaa : seri last time

She rang the bell some more

By the time they came to their place the poojari had already given the kumkum and viboothi prasadam

They did a few rounds around the sannithi and sat down

Mullai : paappaa inga vaa..she kept the viboothi and kumkum for her and to ensure the excess didn't fall into her eye she placed her hand across her eyebrow and blew

Paappaa : thanks athai..maamaa neeyum vechukko..

Mullai extended her hand but just as Kathir put his hand out

Paappa : athai neengale vechu vidunga..inga kannadi ille la..maamaa konala vechukka poraaru

They smiled at her innocence

Mullai kept the viboothi and kumkum for kathir as well

Paappa : oothi vidunga

Kathir looked at her eagerly..if he loved paappaa till now there were no words to describe how he felt towards her just now
