Alyson woke up the next morning to soft rasps upon her door. Alyson groans but gets up to answer it anyway.

She opens it to find Daniel giving her a small smile. His eyes were bright and relaxed.

"Just making sure you two are up, we'll eat breakfast then leave. breakfast is in an hour. Make sure to pack well. We'll be gone for a few days." Daniel says his eye never leaving her own.

"Are you feeling alright? You look kind of pale, is there something going on between you and Hayden?" Daniel said hitting the nail on the head once again.

"Nothing a few days apart won't fix. I'll see you in an hour," Alyson said nodding her head.

"If you say so, let me know if you need anything," Daniel said his voice now sounding a bit worried and constrained.

"Yep," Alyson said feeling a little anxious at him being able to read her so well. Daniel nodded and left.

"Hayden! Wake up! We gotta start packing for the trip," Alyson said trying to keep her voice from flaring with the anger in hurt that sat in her chest.

Hayden didn't move instead he snuggled deeper into the blankets. Alyson huffed annoyed already at his childish behavior. Alyson had always thought Hayden was quite mature until the past few days have happened.

"Hayden, this is your last chance to get out of bed," Alyson warned. Hayden made no move to get out of bed.

"Fine," She growled and decided that if he wanted to sleep, she'd let him. He's be the one getting in trouble not her. She knew she was being just as childish as he was, but she honestly couldn't bring herself to care.

Alyson grabbed the bag she always took to go into a forest and started grabbing all the stuff she thought she would need. She moved around the room gathering things Kai sleepily watching her as she does so. She hesitated on bring the last few letters her dad had sent her, but she quickly put them safely in there taking extra care as to make sure they wouldn't get smashed.

She glanced at the clock it was roughly 4:30 which means she had a half hour left before breakfast.

Alyson huffed and decided that if she couldn't wake Hayden then she'd have to pull out the big guns.

"Um, Daniel can you do me a favor?" Alyson asked meekly through their connection.

"Of course, what is it?" He responded instantly.

"Can you come wake Hayden up, it seems like he's giving me the cold shoulder and is ignoring me." Alyson said sounding like she was talking about her child and not her supposed mate.

Daniel let out a chuckle, "You know out of all my sons Hayden is the most stubborn when it comes to getting up. Why don't you come down here and relax while I go wake him up?" Daniel suggested. Alyson's shoulders sagged with relief.

"You're are a god send Daniel, truly," Alyson mused making Daniel laugh.

"Kai!" Alyson called out and watched the young pup finally get up.

"I'll take you outside before I leave, then I'll let you into Elliot and Dylan's room to sleep some more, sound good?" She asks. Kai sneezes his approval.

"Great let's go then." Alyson left her room and stepped quietly outside. Kai huffed as his feet sunk into the fresh snow, it was at least 5 or 6 inches deep at this point. Alyson didn't mind there were a few winters that the snow got this deep back home. But it was the cold that got her, the crisp Canada air was much harsher than back home. She shivered slightly and wished she could regulate her body temp like Weres could.
