Hey y'all. I just want to say how incredibly sorry I am for just leaving like that. The only explanation I can give is that I can give is that I lost all of my inspiration for art and for writing. I needed to take a break. I felt like I was forcing myself to write and that's never a good thing when writing was something I enjoy. But, I'm back! Hopefully, I will be able to continue writing and drawing for you guys.Currently, this will possibly be the sole book I'm working on just for the sake of wanting to write Secrets & Promises well. Hope you guys enjoy this chapter!

After practice, I drove Oliver home and then myself. Walking in my front door, I heard my mother in the kitchen as usual. Instead of heading straight to my room, I walked into the kitchen to grab a snack. My mother glanced up as I walked in, "How was school?"

"It was okay." My mom rolled her eyes at my response. I laughed at her expression before leaving the kitchen and jogging up the stairs to my room. Sitting down at my desk, I was quick to start on my homework. Being the school's golden boy meant I had straight A's along with being aesthetically pleasing.

Of course, the only thing I was missing was a girl. Not just any girl. My girl. Everyone at school was waiting for me to get together with the most popular girl in school. Melissa Roberts. Known for her looks and being the captain of the cheer squad, Melissa was the one people expected me to be with. Of course, that was not going to happen. I was waiting for someone to come along who didn't act like everything revolved around themselves.

I had yet to meet someone who exceeded my expectations. Sighing, I continued with my homework, all the while daydreaming about the one girl who would make my world spin.

Not even an hour into my homework, Jason walked in and jumped on my bed. Ignoring him, I continued on my Math. A few minutes of silence passed. Then Jason groaned. Not looking up from my worksheet, "Yes?"

"Can we go play catch?" A grin slowly crept onto my face as I stood up and slipped on my shoes. He hadn't even noticed I stood up yet. As I exited my room, I called back, "You coming?" My answer was a patter of footsteps following my descent down the steps.

Walking out the back door, I grabbed a football that was always beside the door. Just like myself, my little brother wanted to be a football player, at least, during high school. I wasn't sure what was going to happen after high school, but I did know that football was what I wanted to do.

Starting off with the ball, I tossed it to Jason who caught it effortlessly. Like I said, he wanted to be a football player. And, much like myself, he was a natural at it. We messed around for an hour before our mother called us in for dinner. Dinner was quick and filled with mindless chatter. Jason and I both retreated to our rooms to finish school work as our parents sat in the living room.

After my homework was finished, I played games on my phone whilst texting Oliver and Logan. Oliver was spamming memes and other jokes as usual and Logan just responded when we singled him out. I was a mix of the two. I would respond to Oliver's memes and jokes with my own or I would only respond when prompted. Tonight, I was pretty active in our messages.

Oliver however, wouldn't shut up about this totally cute girl in his Math class. Apparently she was pretty shy, so when she said her name - which is Skylar - Oliver heard her say 'Shy-lar.' Which lead to him calling her that the rest of the period. I rolled my eyes at his antics. Soon enough, it was getting late and we all dropped out of the conversation. I closed my eyes, the only thing on my mind as I drifted off to sleep was finding her.
