After the parade, the Supreme Leader and North made another speech, about internationalism and victory.

"This country was founded on the principles of peace and unity," North announced towards the end. "We will never give these up. And if we have to fight for us, and all of our comrades, to get this, we will." His eye narrowed. "And we will win," he finished strongly, to the immense cheering of his people.

Y/N and China joined in, clapping.

"He can certainly stir up a crowd," China praised. "His people love him."

"And what about yours?" Y/N asked. "Do they love you?" She quickly held up her hands. "N-No offense. I'm genuinely curious."

China hummed. "Most of them. Shall we go see North?" He held out his arm, and Y/N hesitantly took it.

They made their way over to the door of the main building, waiting for North and the others to come out.

When he did, North immediately walked over to them. "China." He bowed, eye on their linked arms.

"North." China unlinked arms to return the bow. "Happy birthday."

North relaxed. "I wasn't sure if you would show up."

"This is a special year. Of course I'm here." He raised his slender eyebrows, looking behind the Korean. "Incoming."

"North!" Russia roared, picking up North from behind, hugging him. "Happy birthday, comrade!"

North's eye widened. "Put me down, now!" he commanded.

"What's he saying?" Y/N asked China, who grinned.

"You are perfect." He reached into the folds of his robe.

     "Um, thank you?"

"No, not like that." The Chinese Countryhuman pulled out a small piece of technology. "You're perfect to try my new tech on. Here." He held out his hand, and Y/N hesitantly took the little black device.

"Thanks," she said. "What is it?"

"It's my newest instant translator. You attach it to your ear, and it will translate languages in real-time," China explained. "I can't try it out myself because I can understand all languages. Plus-" He gestured to his smooth head. "No ears."

Y/N fumbled with it, then China impatiently leaned in and attached it to the shell of her ear. She caught North watching the other Countryhuman intently.

"There," China said excitedly, flipping something on the earpiece. "How is it?"

The earpiece hummed gently in Y/N's ear.

"Так, говорил- нет сука, я хочу моя водка, пиздец," Russia said in Russian, then roared heartily. North glowered.

"So, I said- no, bitch I want my fucking vodka," a robotic male's voice spoke in Y/N's ear.

     "Oh!" she exclaimed. "It works!"

"Don't look so surprised," China said, grinning as his Mandarin was translated for her. "The rumours that my tech is cheap are American lies."

Hae happily pushed open the door to the Square, then yelped.

Just as she was trying to retreat, Russia's eyes lit up. "My little comrade!" He lunged for her, grabbing her in a bone-crushing hug. "Good to see you again!"
