When Y/N awoke, she was in a recognisable place- the master bedroom where so many of her beatings had taken place.

The king sized bed facing the door, covered with stars-and-stripes blankets and pillows; the window, high enough that she'd break her neck if she jumped; the red-white-and-blue wallpaper. Everything was far too familiar.

The door creaking open, America peeking his head around it.

His face brightened when he saw her.

"Oh thank God- you're finally awake." The country strolled in, sitting on the corner of the bed. "I was beginning to think I'd killed you."

"You already tried to," Y/N muttered, scooting as far into the headboard as she could, curling up her legs to cover her chest.

America laughed, taking a loud sip from the Big Gulp in his hand. "I wasn't trying to kill you. I just thought that it would be fun to shoot at you." Sip. "And it was." He grinned at her like he'd just told the best pick-up line ever.

"North is going to kill you," Y/N said softly, and the lights switched off on America's face.

"Don't say that filthy commie's name in my house," he growled. "And speak English."

"It's true," she spat, still in Korean. "You hurt SH and the others. He's not going to forgive that."

America stood up, looming over her menacingly. He stared at her angrily, but she could see his eyes over the rims of his sunglasses, and they were null.

Then he laughed. "Right, right. You used to be so sassy. That's why I liked you." He relaxed, thrusting his Big Gulp at her. "Thirsty?" he asked, as he had on so many dates of theirs.

"N-No," she stuttered. "I'm not." She had never turned down an offer from him.

"Oh well." He shrugged, sitting back down. "Your loss. By the way, have you ever considered that I want North to come and get you?"

"W-What?" Y/N asked, a sinking feeling in her stomach.

America nodded enthusiastically, taking another sip of his Gulp. "I was pretty surprised to see you at the meeting. I'll admit- even a little angry. But, then I realised- Hey- I can kill two birds with one stone." His tone went dark. "You and North."

Y/N felt a rush of anger run through her at the thought of the Countryhuman in front of her hurting North. "I thought that you didn't want to kill me?" she asked coldly.

"Wow, I've never heard that tone on you." America chuckled. "Looks like North's rubbing off on you- you even have a freaking accent now. Don't worry- I can fix that, though.

"And I meant it metaphorically." He rolled his eyes under his shades. "Jeez. Well, you metaphorically. I will kill North. But I realised that I could use you to do it, and get you back." He pouted. "I've been lonely without you, Y/N."

"Just tell me what you're planning!" Y/N snapped.

"Careful," America said darkly. "It was cute at first, but I'm getting a little tired of the 'sassy' act.

"Anyyyyways," he drawled. "I need a good reason to bomb North off the face of the map. What better reason than the Countryhuman himself storming the White House to steal back my First Lady?"
