"Do I know you?" Peg asked the strange man who approached her. Jessie hid a little away but close enough to be able to shoot him if necessary
"Oh, we haven't had the pleasure, but we may yet. You're coming with me" he said and Jessie got a skin shot of the man in the hand, causing Peggy to then knock him out cold. Jessie joined Peggy running down the alley as this car chased them down the it and they busted the tires with the few remaining bullets.
"I know I should of called first... did you miss me?" Howard smirked as he popped his head out the window then he saw Jessie
"Since when did you two become besties?" He asked
"Since she gave me a job?" Jessie answered back and the two girls got into the car
"They're calling you a traitor" Peggy stated
"I'm calling it a setup. I have a vault l, or 'had' I should say... sub-basement of my office, triple thick lead-lined. It's where I kept my bad babies" Howard explained
"Bad babies?" Peggy asked
"Stupid name Howard" Jessie laughed
"Inventions too dangerous for anyone... even my friends" Howard answered
"Typical Stark thing then huh?" Jessie asked
"But it begs the question, why invent them at all?" Peggy asked and Howard smirked
"I can't help what I think of, but I can damn well control what I sell" Howard answered
"At least... I could until last month" he added and Peg gave him a confused look
"What happened last month?" Jessie asked
"I was in Monaco... with a lovely tax advisor. When I got back, I found a hole in my vault, all the way to the sewer... Somebody cleaned me out, then my bad babies... they started turning up on the black market" Howard answered
"But why run?" Jessie asked
"Yes, why not tell the Senate the truth, ask for their help?" Peggy questioned and Howard gave the two girls a look for the questions
"Apparently, it's not too big a jump to see me cutting a hole in my own vault and making some money on sly" Howard explained and Peggy gave a look which made Jessie giggle
"Really?" Howard asked as he looked at the two
"I'm just considering all the angles" Peggy explained
"Seems like you have a lot of them" Jessie laughed
"Now that's the Peggy Carter I need... and sarcastic Jessie Barnes" Howard said
"For what?" Peg asked
"To clear my name" Howard answered
"You can't be serious" Peggy responded and Jessie nodded in agreement
"I try not to be, but sometimes it just slips out anyway" Howard said and Peg glared at him
"Oh come on, Peg. You both know darn well I didn't do this, which means the SSR is looking for the wrong guy. I want to find the right guy... but I'm going to need someone on this inside, someone I can trust" Howard said and Jessie raised her hand
"Lovely whatever it is between you two in all... but what is my role here?" Jessie asked
"To join Peggy on this one, she will need the help Jess" Howard answered and Peg rolled her eyes
"Howard, you're asking me to become a traitor in order to prove you're not one. You see the irony?" Peggy explained
"Come on Peg. I know they're not using you both right over there. Want a mission that matters? This is it. My technology in the hands of some nut who wants to be the next Red Skull... you have no idea how bad it could be. Right now, you're the only two that can stop that" Howard explained as the car pulled upto a dock
"Heres good. Kill the lights" Howard said and they got out the car and down a wooden platform to a small boat.
