The other suits identical to the talking one flew out, smashing the windows. Jessie grabbed her sword out from her dress and hid down behind a table for cover after Steve tipped it over. Nat threw herself and Bruce over and under the bar Jessie got close to one as she drove her sword through it, causing sparks to fly as it shut down. Jessie zoned out as she had started to fight. The voices of the muffled team shouting was so far away from her as she ended up nearer Ultron
"You are an unusual one" he mumbled as he saw her but Nat went and shot the suit making her flinch backwards. She snapped back into reality while panting as everyone else had broken machines around them
"That was dramatic! I'm sorry, I know you mean well. You just didn't think it through. You want to protect the world, but you don't want it to change. How is humanity saved if it's not allowed to...evolve?" Ultron laughed almost as he picked up a head of a robot and crushed it
"With these? These puppets? There's only one path to peace: The Avengers' extinction"
"I had strings, but now I'm free. There are no strings on me, no strings on me" He sung after Thors hammer smashed his suit into many pieces and the liquids spilled onto the floor.
Jessie sat down on the stairs and took it all in what happened and the rest of the team left to go check over everything
"Jessie?" Nats voice said causing the brunette to look up
"Nat" Jessie greeted
"What happened tonight? I saw that look in your eye" Nat asked
"I don't know... I have never had that before" Jessie whispered
"Don't tell Steve" She added quickly
"I won't" Nat promised and the two women went and got changed quickly before heading back to the team. Jessie wore some black jeans and a lilac hoodie while Nat found some leggings and a grey hoodie.
"All our work is gone. Ultron cleared out, used the internet as an escape hatch" Bruce explained as he looked through the useless computer as the two girls walked inside.
"Ultron" Steve said
"You owe me for that bet" Jessie smirked
"Not the time" Steve said
"He's been in everything. Files, surveillance. Probably knows more about us than we know about each other" Nat said as she looked through something
"He's in your files, he's in the internet. What if he decides to access something a little more exciting?" Rhodes asked as he tried to hint at something, only getting a clueless look from Jessie
"Nuclear codes" Maria said, taking shards of glass out her foot
"Nuclear codes. Look, we need to make some calls, assuming we still can" Rhodey said nodding at what Maria said
"Nukes? He said he wanted us dead" Nat stated
"He didn't say dead. He said extinct" Steve reminded
"Is it too late for me to back out?" Jessie joked
"He also said he killed somebody" Clint said remembering what speech Ultron presented the team before
"But there wasn't anyone else in the building" Maria said giving a confused look
"Yes there was" Tony answered as he showed some 3D model of a yellow destroyed thing
"This is insane" Bruce said looking through all the pieces of the destroyed JARVIS
"JARVIS was the first line of defense. He would've shut Ultron down, it makes sense" Steve said looking at the thing then lowering his head.
"No, Ultron could've assimilated Jarvis. This isn't strategy, this is...rage" Bruce explained then Thor came flying in, raging towards Tony. He grabbed him by the neck and held him up a little
"Woah, woah, woah! It's going around" Clint said, trying to calm the god down
"Come on. Use your words, buddy" Tony said to Thor
"I have more than enough words to describe you, Stark" Thor snarled as a response
"Thor! The Legionnaire" Steve yelled trying to get him to snap out of it. Jessie stood aside unsure what to do, after all she was the newbie who no one really noticed
"Trail went cold about a hundred miles out but it's headed north, and it has the scepter. Now we have to retrieve it, again." Thor explained very annoyed
"The genie's out of that bottle. Clear and present is Ultron" Nat said as she went and sat with Jessie
"I don't understand. You built this program. Why is it trying to kill us?" The doctor lady asked and Tony began to laugh hysterically, causing Bruce to shake his head
"You think this is funny?" Thor asked, only getting more agitated by Tony's behaviour
"No. It's probably not, right? Is this very terrible? Is it so...is it so...it is. It's so terrible" Tony giggled like a child
"This could've been avoided if you hadn't played with something you don't understand" Thor yelled
" No, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. It is funny. It's a hoot that you don't get why we need this." Tony defended himself
"Tony, maybe this might not be the time to..." Bruce tried to intervene and tone down the argument
" Really?! That's it? You just roll over, show your belly, every time somebody snarls" Tony said and Jessie buried her ears under her hands
"Only when I've created a murder bot" Bruce stated back at Tony
" We didn't. We weren't even close. Were we close to an interface?" Tony responded
"Well, you did something right. And you did it right here. The Avengers were supposed to be different than SHIELD" Steve said getting in the way to try end this, although he wasn't helping
"Anybody remember when I carried a nuke through a wormhole?" Tony asker
" No, it's never come up." Rhodey stated sarcastically
"Never to me" Jessie whispered
"Saved New York?" Tony continued
" Never heard that" Rhodey continued
"Is he still talking?" Jessie asked Nat who nodded sadly
"Recall that? A hostile alien army came charging through a hole in space. We're standing three hundred feet below it. We're the Avengers. We can bust arms dealers all the live long day, but, that up there? That's...that's the end game. How were you guys planning on beating that?" Tony asked the team in general but mainly Steve
"Together" Steve answered
"We'll lose" Tony argued
"Then we'll do that together, too" Steve answered and Tony gave him a look before turning away
"Thor's right. Ultron's calling us out. And I'd like to find him before he's ready for us. The world's a big place. Let's start making it smaller"
