It took me two days to find them. The world is pretty barren outside of Dawn, our city. That was the only true thing our teachers had said about the world. So I was alone for two whole days. But then I found the Runaways.
Matthias found me first, curled up in a ball in the middle of the night. He brought me inside a cave at the base of a mountain. They were all there. Six of them huddled around a fire. Five boys and one girl. I was the seventh.
One of the boys, who seemed to be the leader, stood up and started walking toward me. "You must be Adelia," he said. "We heard about your escape from Dawn. My name's Ace. Welcome to the Cave."
