Fortunately for Sibuna (except not really Sibuna because Fabian says we're not really Sibuna without Nina), it seems like Mara's gonna spend the rest of her night downstairs. So, we have our Sibuna-except-not-Sibuna room to ourselves, giving us a chance to talk about Fabian's ominous translation and try and figure it out without anyone overhearing.

When the dark son is born in the English sky, and children of children sleep the day by, give the loop of fire to the sleeping man, and the dark son of Egypt will rise again.

"It doesn't make any sense," Fabian states, pacing back and forth. "If I can't figure out the rest of the symbols, then we might as well just give up—"

"Hey, we don't give up," I tell him sharply. "We are not giving up, Fabian. We'll figure it out."

"How? Look at—" The door opens suddenly and those of us with hieroglyphic notes make a move to hide them, but it's just Patricia. Fabian scolds her, "Patricia, we have a rule about knocking."

"Fine," Patricia says, "but you guys will not believe what I've just seen."

Joy, Amber, and I share a look before we chorus, "Eddie and KT?" Patricia nods. At least Patricia's jealousy over them confirms that Eddie and KT have gotten back from wherever they went (Eddie did finally manage to respond to one of my texts, but didn't tell me where they were and basically told me to knock it off with the incessant texts—incessant texts, yeah, right!). Amber adds, "Just a teensy bit obsessed."

Patricia rolls her eyes, sitting on the floor. "So, how are we getting on with the symbols in Victor's package? Have you worked out any more about Amber's bracelet yet?"

Fabian finally sits down. "I'm trying, okay? But I'm clueless about the bracelet. And those messages might be all I can work out from the symbols on this table."

"That doesn't mean we give up," I say. "Look, something weird is going on here, with those hieroglyphs and the bracelet and whoever the Keeper, the Seeker, and the Enabler are. It's up to us to find out. We can't give up."

About fifteen minutes later, I get a short text from Joy that says: TRIXIE FREAKING OUT ABOUT E+KT PLEASE HELP. I sigh, telling the others I have something to deal with before leaving the room, walking down the hall to Joy and Patricia's room. Mara nearly runs into me on the way, asking, "You got one, too?"

"Trixie might need a Snicker's bar," I respond. She laughs, shaking her head as she opens the door.

The first thing we hear is Patricia rambling, "It wouldn't bother me if she was dating Eddie. In fact, I hope they are, and they can annoy each other to death."
