THIRD PERSON POV
A week later

Today is the funeral for Kassie. Ezra doesn't answer Jaida's calls and text messages. He barely talks to anyone. Everyone is pretty pissed off that he is blaming Jaida for all of this.

Jaida has been a mess. She goes to her classes dressed in the same black sweatshirt and sweatpants. She always is crying and when she isn't, she has a blank expression on her face and won't talk to anyone. She would sometimes have dreams about that day in the hospital.

The only reason Jaida knew the funeral was today is because Alexander found out and told everyone. Jaida had Hayley come out for the funeral because she knew Hayley loved Kassie. Hayley understands what funerals are for and she was sad about Kassie. She cried a lot as well even cried for Ezra but Jaida didn't know what to tell her about him.

"Jaida you ready?" Janiya asked knocking on the door. Jaida cleared her throat and grabbed her purse before walking to the door opening it.

"I'm ready." Jaida said as her best friend looked at her with so much sadness. Hayley came out of Janiya'a room ready to go dressed in her black dress. Jaida sent Janiya a fake smile before walking to Hayley picking her up. She needed to be close to her babygirl right now.

"Let's go baby" She mumbled to Hayley and they walked out to meet Alexander in the hall. Jaida didn't want everyone to go. She really wanted to go alone with just her and Hayley but since Alex was the one who actually found out, she decided to go with him.

"Come on" Alex said softly as he put his arm on her back softly as they walked to the elevator. Jaida put Hayley down and held her hand as they waited for the elevator.

"Jaida if at any point you want to leave just let me know." Alex said and she nodded with a small sigh. She didn't know how Ezra would react to her being there but she wanted to be there for Kassie.

The funeral was amazing. Ezra has noticed Jaida right away and definitely was angry about it but he didn't say anything until after they lowered Kassie's casket down to the ground.

Jaida cried like crazy in Alex's arms. Hayley was sad but she was more sad that her Ezy didn't speak to her at all.

"Come Jaida there are having some refreshments" Alex said as Jaida stood watching Ezra as he looked at Kassie's casket that was in the hole.

"No let me at least say something to him" Jaida mumbled before walking to him. She stood next to him and didn't say a word for a moment as she tried to figure out what to say.

"Why are you here" Ezra coldly said as he continued to stare at the casket. Jaida looked at him a small frown on her face before looking away.

"Kassie was more than just my therapist Ezra, she was my friend" Jaida mumbled softly. Ezra scoffed and rolled his eyes as he took a step away from the hole in the ground that his sister lays in.

"Don't lie to me Jaida. You're here because you wanted to see me" Ezra said turning toward her as he looked down at her coldly.

"Yes I did want to see how you were doing but don't get it twisted I also wanted to be at the funeral of my friend" Jaida said not looking at him in the eye. She didn't want to see that hateful look he had in his eye for her.

"She wasn't your friend. She was just your therapist" Ezra said harshly. Alex and Hayley watched from a far.

"Uncle Alex I want to go to see Ezy" Hayley mumbled looking at Alex. Alex sighed not knowing what to say to her.

"Not right now babygirl Ezy is angry right now" Alex said to her kissing her forehead softly as he held her hand.

"Oh" was all Hayley said as she pouted.

"You come to my sister's funeral when you're the reason why she is in the ground in the first place"Ezra harshly as he pointed to the hole where her casket was.

"That's not true Ezra and you know it" Jaida said angrily as tears ran down her cheeks.

"Save your pathetic crying. You know it's the truth Jaida now get out of my face" Ezra said before turning away to walk away.

"No wait Ezra please" Jaida said as she grabbed his arm trying to stop him.

"LEAVE ME ALONE JAIDA" Ezra screamed as he turned back in her face. Jaida was taken back from it as she took a step back.

Hayley pulled from Alex's hand angrily and ran to her mother.

"Don't yell at my mommy!" Hayley said before kicking Ezra's leg as hard as she could. Jaida looked at Hayley and picked her up.

"Don't do that Hayley that's not nice" Jaida mumbled to her daughter.

"But mommy daddy made you cry" Hayley said as she wiped her little hands across her mother's cheeks wiping her tears.

"It's okay sweetie I deserve it" Jaida said kissing Hayley's little hands before looking at Ezra as he walked away.

I deserve it

"Hey!" Alexander yelled at Ezra's back. Ezra stopped walking but didn't turn around.

"You are a piece of shit you know that" Alex said angrily to him.

"Shut up Alex" Ezra said as he clenched his fists.

"No because you know damn well that Jaida isn't the reason your sister is dead." Alex said as he pointed back to Jaida.

"Yes she is. If I hadn't been worrying about her then I wouldn't have forgotten about my sister" Ezra mumbled and Alex laughed rolling his eyes.

"Do you fucking hear yourself right now!? Ezra you are the one who fucking forgot about your own sister. You're blaming Jaida because you don't want to admit it to your self. Jaida didn't have nothing to do with this. Your sister is dead because she got shot three times and died wondering where her big brother was." Alex yelled harshly.

"Jaida isn't the reason why Kassie is dead. You are" Alex said coldly before walking away to Jaida and Hayley who were watching the whole thing. Alex didn't mean to say because it really wasn't his fault but he was just so angry it slipped out.

"Let's go" Alex said before leading the two girls to their car. Alex didn't know this but Ezra stood there crying because he realized that Alex was right.

He was the reason Kassie was dead.
