A/N: Just finished watching episodes 1-6 of book three. I'm literally watching the episode as I do this. This is for
a u t h e n t I c i t y.

Ring. Ring. Ring. My alarm ranged.

It was four in the morning and although finding the airbenders was important, I don't think that it's too important.

"I'm suppose to meet Chief at 5," I said to myself as I looked at my clock. As much as I wanted to stay in bed, I couldn't. I rose up from my bed and stretched my limbs to their extent. A loud yawn came from my mouth, accidentally waking up my like snow ferret. "Sorry," I said and petted her. I smiled at the fact that I was able to bring her along with me for the ride.

I walked over to the bathroom and brushed my teeth. Thankfully, I packed my clothes in advance as well as my girl's food. I quickly brushed my teeth and my hair and I was out. I still looked tired but I knew I would eventually wake up when the time comes. I make my way to the kitchen and whip up a quick breakfast. The time was now 5:30 am and I had only a few minutes left. I grab Rina, my pet, and placed her on my head as I began to exit my apartment.

The sun was barely showing outside and was covered by the white clouds. The way it shined through felt like an once in a lifetime experience. As I walked towards the station, I could slowly see the sun rising up. I didn't want to drive since I will be gone for awhile. Chief Beifong started to appear once I got closer to the station. I see her standing there as if she was waiting for me. "Good morning detective," she greeted me. I bowed and said, "Good morning Chief."

"On the aircraft, I'll do a quick briefing of our case again. Don't be surprised at anything," she noted to me as I loaded my things onto the aircraft. As we boarded the craft, she quickly went over everything. "So, we will first be locating in Ba Sing Se. I've been given orders by Lord Zuko to protect the Avatar from Zaheer. Secondly, we'll-," then I cut her off, "Wait a minute, what do you mean protect the avatar?" Many thoughts were surrounding my head with all this information. "Protecting the Avatar? Zaheer? Who's Zaheer," I frantically think to myself as I back away into a seat. The Chief looked back at me as if I was an idiot. "Did you not read the letter I sent you," she asked me. "A letter," I asked back, "I mean I grabbed my mail but I didn't really bother looking at it since I had to pack," I explained to her. She scoffed and looked back at the view, "Well, you'll get it. I know you will," she said with confidence. I guess I do have that reputation around the station.

"Just wondering," I said to the Chief nervously, "but why did you lie back in your office?" "Well it was obvious," the Chief responded, "I could feel those three officers a mile away." "That does make sense," I thought to myself, "it better to lie than create panic." I petted Rin to calm myself. Protecting the Avatar was a huge deal. Well, just being in her presence was. It was a long, long way to Ba Sing Se so I better keep my calm when I get there.

When I woke up, I was greeted with the green scenery from the windows of the aircraft but Chief was nowhere to be found. I checked my clock and saw that it was already 2 pm. "T-two," I exclaimed, accidentally waking up Rin. I looked around my surroundings to see a note. "I'm out right now," it said, "looking for the Avatar. I'll come back when I find her Beifong." That was short and quick. Shortly after, the Chief walks through the door. "It seems that you have found her," I said to her. She nodded and gestures me to get up. "The Avatar is conveniently not too far. Let's go." I get up from my seat and walked next to Chief Beifong.

We begin to walk through a neighborhood—a very rich one. As I looked around, many stares where given towards us. Rin was peacefully sitting on my head while Beifong walked in her agitated manner as always. As she walked up to the door and knocked, we were greeted by an air bender. He had the arrows like Avatar Aang did. And he almost looked like him too. "Lin," he exclaimed, "What are you doing here?" He had a dumbfounded expression on his face. Lin responded, "We need to get Korra out of here immediately. Her life is in danger," she explained as she walked in the room. I followed her into the house and was suddenly greeted with a heavy hug. "Ryujin," the hugger exclaimed with excitement. I looked at him all weirdly, wondering how he knew my name. The hugging was the least of my worries. But from the corner of my eye, I saw Mako pull him back and shook his head. He whispered to him, "she doesn't know us, anymore." He sounded so defeated and I could see the boy's face frown.

"What's going on," Korra, the Avatar, asked. I stood besides the Chief strongly as she explained the situation to the air bender. From behind me, I could hear little whispers and murmurs. "How does she not know us," the hugger asked Mako. "I don't know but it seems like she doesn't remember us at all," Mako responded. "Oh," the other boy said with defeat, "well I hope she remembers that you used to have a crush on her," he quickly giggled, causing a blush on my cheeks. "I can see how," a female voice said, "she is quite beautiful." Mako quickly defended himself. "We were children and working for the Triple Threats," he added, "it was just kid stuff." "Ahaha," the female laughed, "child's play."

"It was for your own safety," the air bender said. Mako steppes forward from the bunch and asked, "Why were they trying to kidnap Korra?" Although I wasn't paying attention, I did get the general idea. And judging from Korra's character, she didn't want to go down without a fight. But Beifong was so determined on bringing back the Avatar to Republic City, but isn't she banned from there?

I finally put my ears back onto the conversation to hear, "And we're busting them out."

A/N: Ryujin doesn't really pay attention but she still gets the message. I guess the detective training really paid off.
