visiting a dead hero

We drove up to the outside of the school house. I sat in the back as Roxanne and Megamind sat in the driver and passanger seat. It turns out that we could get rid of Hals power with the diffuser gun, but it was missing in the invisible car, and Megamind wasn't sure as to where it was.
"How did it get lost?" I asked, and Megamind turned his position to face me. "Ah, well after i realized that Roxanne was more of a friend, I ditched the car to think and.. Misplaced it."
Roxanne muttered under her breath but eventually hit the brakes, causing Megamind to go forward, hitting his head on the windshield.
"Ow! My giant blue head!"
"Oh oops, looks like we are here."
I pushed her shoulder, whispering to her. "I wouldn't keep that act up while I'm here." I said, and she quickly nodded and got out of the car.

The school house looked as it had years before, though it was covered in rotted wood and a rusty bell. What I wasnt expecting, was when we got in there were stairs leading to a room of white and gold, just like the rooms from when I still lived with my foster parents and Cal. Megamind was racing around, looking at everything that seemed like a museum if Metro Mans history, and it all was so exciting, even to see Megamind put on Metro Mans cape, a fuzzy one I made for him for winter, though he only wore it once.
"Can we please focus?" Roxanne ordered, but stopped and looked at some water. It was a glass cup with ice, and Roxanne must have noticed something peculiar about it. "Hey, come over and look at this."
Megamind rushed over and hit the table, wearing the winter cape in a surprise pose. "What is it? What did you find!" He yelled excited. Roxanne just have him a weird look while I looked around the room.
"Uhm.. Look, this glass has ice cubes in it."
"Yes, thats what happens when water gets cold."
"No, what I'm saying is, isn't it a little odd that the ice hasnt melted yet?"
I turned to look at the water and saw Cal, and I gasped and walked towards the group.
"What is it?" Roxanne asked, both her and Megamind turning to see him. Cal
"..hey." Cal said, trying to seem cool. This, of course, caused Roxanne and Megamind to scream, but I ran up to him and hugged him tight.
"Ah! Y/n! I missed you so much!" He bellowed, picking me up off my feet and spinning.
"You ass, you didn't even give me a goodbye!" I wasn't mad, I understood why he left and chuckled as he set me down.
Roxanne tried to make sense of what was happening, and Megamind touched Cals face, trying to see if it was a ghost he was seeing.
Cal removed Megaminds hands from his face and exhaled smooth, preparing his story. "Okay, okay okay okay. You all deserve to know." He seemed to be remembering the day of his disappearance. "Roxanne was being kidnapped and I was going to stop you. But, my head wasnt in the game that day. We were kinds going through the motions. So, using my super speed, i decided to go clear my head. Then i realized, we had done this same silly charade our entire lives. I tried to get my mind off how I was feeling, but i just felt...stuck. I began to realize, despite all my powers, each and every citizen of Metro had something I didn't: a choice. Ever since i could remember, I've always had to be what the city wanted me to be, but what about what I wanted to do? Then, it suddenly hit me, I DO have a choice! I can be whatever i wanna be! No one said this hero thing was a lifetime gig. You cant just quit, either. That's when I got the brilliant idea, to fake my own death! And music man was born!"
Obviously, this upset Roxanne. She began to throw stereos and guitars at Cals head, them bring destroyed upon impact, though Cal didnt even flinch. "How could you do this! We thought you were dead, I thought you were dead, the city needed you and you deserted them! You left us in the hands.. In the hand of him!" She ushered towards Megamind, who didnt seem to take offense by agreeing with her.
"I'm sorry, i really am, but I can't help you anymore. Yknow, buddy, there's a yin to every yang, in fact maybe there's one closer than you think." He looked up to me, and I quickly shook my head no, and he dropped his head back to Megamind. "If there's bad, good will rise up against it. Its taken me a long time to find my calling, now it's about time to find yours."

We gathered back at the the front of the school house, myself hugging and waving a final goodbye to my dear brother.. I would obviously come visit in the near future, perhaps, but we had to deal with Tighten.

"I say we go back to your lab, grab some ray guns, hold him sideways and go all gangsta' on him!" Roxanne planned, but Megamind declined. "So what, that's it? You're giving up?"
Megamind turned. "I'm the bad guy, i dont save the day, i dont fly off into the sunset, and I don't deserve the love of a partner. I'm going home."
Roxanne gasped and I grabbed Megaminds shoulder, but he shrugged it off and kept walking. I teared but got in the van, hitting the side for Roxanne to get in. If Megamind wasn't going to try, there would be no one to stop Hal except for me.
