"You see, you in my universe became gravely ill and I turned her to a blue cube, like your mother here." He nodded at the cube beside me and i picked it up, investigating it. He continued. "It took me months but with Roxanne, Metro Man- erm, Music Man, and Minion we bonked our brains together and were able to snatch a couple scientists to create a portal of sorts where we are able to leap to and from different universes. We tested this with many things, fruits, dogs, fish, a metal pole at one point. They were set to our destination so they shot back out of the portal. Then it was my turn. I stepped through and eventually landed here, on you. I apologize for that by the way, I honestly didnt mean-"

"I get it, continue already."

"Sorry. Yes. My main mission is to find someone like her in order to save her."

"Do you have any idea as to how you will be able to do that?" I asked

"Ah, not really no."

A voice came up, it was a friend of mine, (f/n). "Actually that kinda makes sense. With the string theory of being able to travel to different universes, but you don't belong here so to speak, and this will cause your atoms to dematerialize. You will, so to speak, refuse to exist."

"(F/n), everyone believes in string theory, there's been countless movies. This nut could just be saying this."

"I'm telling the truth! I can prove it!" He spoke up in defense. "Reach in my pocket."

"Im not touching you." I spoke

"Then at least untie one of my hands."

I walked over and grabbed his neck, untying his hand. "Don't try anything funny." You gently squeezed his neck and he blushes, quickly fumbling in his pocket and tosses it on the table.

(F/n) picked it up and examined it, mumbling to themselves. I looked up and watched them, turning my attention back to the man before me. He was.. Staring at me. His pupils dilated before blinking and looking away. I tied his hands again in disgust.

"I believe him." (F/n) said.

"What?" Surprised, i asked, followed by a small 'yes' coming from below me. I smacked him in the shoulder and have my friend my attention.

"This technology is unlike anything I've ever seen, and I can see how it would work." They showed me a little bracelet, like a charm bracelet and began pointing to different parts of it. "These chains, they look like regular ones but do you see the blue and red lining on it?"

"Yeah."

"If you look closer, it looks like its.. Pulsing almost. This allows transportation. The charms, here," they pointed to charms thay had multiple numbers on it. You could arrange the numbers as wanted, like for a bicycle lock. "This gives you numbers- obviously- but instead of there being 4 spaces for perhaps a year, there's 10. Theres at least a possible 9,999,999,999 possibilities of alternate universes. That's nearly like, an infinity amount!" They seemed super excited about this newfound tech. "But but even better!" They showed the inside of the charm bracelet. "Look, here! You can also look for specific people, and inside there's a (y/n) with your exact last name! This marks off any possibility of there being multiple others like you, cause of this." They take off a hair from the bracelet and opened there eyes. "Ah, mark that theory out, this is my hair."

The intruder chuckled earning a glance from me. "Even if this was true, and a strong if, how can I trust him?"

"And why did you run from me when I first saw you?"

You and (f/n) looked at him. His green eyes started to deteriorate. You looked away immediatly. "I don't know, for some reason I can't look at you."

He looked a little hurt but then (f/n) spoke up. "What do you mean? Like.. They look zombified?"

"Yeah.. How did you know?"

"I'm looking right at him." They chuckled and gave you an earnest look. "It could be that since he isn't a natural part of our world, we are seeing something that also doesn't exist. It's our brains way of saying that this object isn't normal."

I stayed silent for a moment. "Okay, well..." I grabbed the cube from the table, that had remained untouched for several hours. I set it under a sink and touched the knob.

"Wait!"

I froze and turned. Megamind.

"I wouldn't do that unless you want your mother on the sink. Set the cube on the ground and pour water on it."

I groaned and he flashed a toothy smile. I grabbed a cup of water and set the cube on the ground, pouring water on it. The cube began to wobble and form into my mother.

"(Y/n?)" My mother spoke, standing up. "Ah! Dear! You need to be careful, this man was coming up behind me and-" she glanced at the sudden movement behind her and saw the man she was trying to warn you about. He gave a small wave with his wrist tied to the chair. "Did you call the police?" She looked at you and you shook your head.

"Everything is sorted out... A bit. Don't worry mom. Plus, I've got (f/n) with me." You motioned behind you and there stood your friend.

"Hello Mrs. (L/n)! I'm (f/n), I go to school with (y/n)."

Your mother stood shocked and you took her arm gently, motioning her to the living room with the cup of water you used to make her reform. "Here, take this and.. Uhmm.. I'll be in the kitchen if you need me." You walked back to the main area everyone was at.

I looked at the watch Megamind was wearing. It was still blinking a light blue hue. You went to touch it but Megamind moved his wrist over as much as he could. "I wouldn't right now." He whispered. You rolled your eyes and walked over to your friend.

"What the hell am I supposed to do with him?" You whispered.

"Dunno. I kinda wanna ask him more questions about his world and all this tech, and how he turned your mother into a cube!" They started getting louder and you hushed them lowly.

"I don't trust him. He doesn't even know what he is to do to save other universe me." You glanced over to Megamind who had his head down, gently kicking his feet at the floor. Looking back You saw your friend grinning. "What's that look for?"

"I've got an idea, but it involves letting him loose."
